Cheers!
I am searching for a laser “pointer” with real power output over 1W.
I saw this video and thought “How cool is that?”
So, does anybody have one - preferred inside of Europe (because of customs)
Because it’s just a toy that will be used <10 Minutes per year, I don’t want to spend a fortune on that - 30$ / 25€
Thanks!

Less than $30?
Not going to happen. Ever.
Just laser safety glasses are over $30. And you certainly do need glasses.
Glasses Laser diodes Just for some actual price reference.

Safety glasses are first and those are $40 for eagle pair glasses and an A140 diode alone is $40 so never going to happen bud

If you want the real thing , you are going to have to
raise your $$ output. But keep asking around , anything
is possible ! Plus over 1 Watt a TOY ! Lasers are not
toys. Use a laser the wrong way or without the proper
safety precautions and you will find that out. The higher
power lasers are a lot more dangerous if you mess up.

Or you will be getting a seeing-eye dog…
Didn’t you notice , he said he wants a laser that’s
over 1 Watt-(1000mW) for no more $$ than $30/25C=
By the way , where are you getting 240mW Green
that you can sell for $30 ? Does it have a IR filter ?
Is it fairly new or used ?

Did ya notice comments following that video?

Also Be careful with your camera and the Lasers I heard even little ones like djs use can mess them up as you see dots in some of there videos.
Not sure why this happens?
Anthony Shuker 3 days ago
+EastAngliaUK he had dots in a previous camera after lasers and did a video where he inspected the camera sensor
These people are wondering how somebody’s camera got little holes burned in the image sensor.
The color being used — violet — is damn dangerous high energy photons, in a color that’s barely perceptible to the human eye.
https://www.google.com/search?q=violet+laser+damage
http://www.geteyesmart.org/eyesmart/eye-health-news/laser-pointer-eye-injury.cfm
blue- and violet-light lasers can be especially dangerous: The human eye actually is less sensitive to blue and violet. So, while a victim would react quickly to a red or green laser, that person may not blink or turn away as fast from an equally powerful blue or violet light, creating a greater likelihood of injury. ….
researchers in Saudi Arabia documented the case histories of 14 young males, ages 11 to 30, who sought treatment for these injuries from January 2012 to January 2013 ….
Only four eyes (29 percent) improved spontaneously with increase in vision, whereas 10 eyes (71 percent) required intervention, including vitrectomy (surgery in which the vitreous gel in the eye is removed and an operating microscope and small surgical instruments are used to remove blood and scar tissue that accompany abnormal vessels in the eye).

sigh…
I should have written that the subject “lasers” is one of those, where I know about the risks.
If I would have gotten a laser for that money, I wouldn’t have used it without good safety glasses on!
My bad
Thanks!

To be quite honest, those who completely appreciate the risk will not use the word toy.

It does not have IR filter.
I bought that in China. I measured all lasers seller had and bought strongest one.
It was measured with IR filter equipped Coherent LPM.
Runtime is less than 5 minutes.
30$ is enough for me for that laser pointer.

Kids, don’t buy this. (Adults, you’re on your own ….)
https://www.google.com/search?q=green+laser+infrared+filter+health+risk&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
Page down on that result and you’ll find a test procedure:
http://www.nist.gov/customcf/get_pdf.cfm?pub_id=906138
A simple layout of this experiment is shown in Fig. 5. The CD serves as the diffraction grating …. The digital or cell phone
camera is sensitive only to visible light, and is used to photograph the green diffraction pattern,
as shown in Fig. 6. On the other hand, inexpensive web cameras are, or may easily be modified ao be, sensitive to both visible and infrared radiation. An infrared TV remote control unit may be used to determine whether the web camera is infrared sensitive; if it is not, it can be modified by
the procedure described in Appendix B. The infrared -sensitive web camera is then used to photograph the diffraction pattern. Comparison of images acquired by digital and web cameras determines the presence of infrared light, as shown in Fig. 6 below.
