I have a gal in our group at work that is always short on cash and is in need of a decent light that runs AA batteries and can grow into a good 14500 battery if she chooses. I have seen many folks with S1A’s including me and I wondered if anyone would part with one reasonably. I am not crazy about mine, but it has a decent moonlight mode so I really do not want to give it to her…
PM me and let me know what you would have to have for one…
Just throwing this out there. Could the Manker E11 be a good substitute? No magnetic tail, but otherwise for $30 from Amazon….seems pretty reasonable to me. Of course, that view may be skewed by the fact that I don’t personally care for Olight’s beam profiles personally. I like a little spill with my spot.
EDIT: Although, I’m reading that it may NOT allow for protected 14500’s……might be a deal breaker as I don’t see that it has LVP or battery voltage indication. Sorry….just trying to help.
4 modes, good moonlight and has mode memory. Yes it has PWM but is that really a concern for her?
It’s pink it has to be good
They run fine on ni-mh but take 14500 without a problem.
Stock the tint is a bit white but you can out in the inexpensive XP-G2 here from FT makes it real warm. https://www.fasttech.com/products/1609/10001905/1921703
Guys… I should add that the magnet is really needed and that this gal is a complete flashlight newb. I am hoping to provider her with a light, one of my spare Lii100 chargers and a couple of good nimh batteries. Thanks for reading…
Other considerations (although I don’t know what price you were hoping for in getting used S1A), could be Skilhunt DS15 around $30 and DS16 around $40. Magnetic tailcaps, AA/14500 etc. I have the Skilhunt H15 Headlamp (AA/14500 floody headlamp) and have been quite happy with it in the AA form factor (and it can be had close to the DS15 price range with a Group Buy here on BLF). Again, just some suggestions if the S1A doesn’t pan out. :+1:
I gave 2 of these as gifts partly because they didn’t say anything about being compatible with 14500’s. If they are 14500 compatible they just became a screaming deal at that price. I’ll have to bake them to get rid of the pink but I’ve been wondering what color these would turn anyway…
