NEW TO THE FORUM HERE, IM LOOKING FOR AN OLD FLASHLIGHT, THE EVEREADY SPORT GEAR FLASHLIGHT AND LANTERN COMBO, ITS YELLOW IN COLOR AND SLIDES FROMA FLASHLIGHT TO A LANTERN, THEY WERE VERY POPULAR IN THE 90’s, I HAD ALOT OF MEMORIES WITH THAT FLASHLIGHT, AND IM LOOKING FOR ONE TO BUY, I HAVE NOT FOUND A PLACE ONLY THAT HAS ONE, IF ANYONE HAS ONE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, THANKS
I think I remember the light you are referring to. I believe it runs on 4-AA’s? I remember it was a cool flashlight, changing into a lantern by sliding it open. Lanterns are great for camping.
Sorry for the all caps guys, lol, I was multitasking doing work at the same time and when I do work from home all of our documentation has to be in all caps, sometimes I forget that the real world doesn’t use all caps, my bad
Back to the topic, does anyone have any of these flashlights laying around? Eveready sport gear lantern and flashlight
i had one as a kid.
it survived till it got stolen out of the bed of my truck.
i will update if i find a source.
i had mine in the 70’s so it must have had a long production for amazon to have stocked them
I just found my second one at a thrift shop, it takes 4 D batteries and I replaced the bulb with a Dorcy 4.8-6.0 volt led replacement which means that it should run for a couple of weeks on a set of batteries.
we have a large thrift shop here that always has a big box of flashlights.they are all $0.99.
occasionally something interesting shows up.
if one like you want appears i will grab it.
Hey All,
I found this post when I was looking for a replacement for my father’s 8215WB-E. (the smaller round light/lantern that holds 4 AA batteries) They are fragile in the battery area and his broke while trying to replace batteries. Since I broke it I took it upon myself to find another. They turned out to be quite rare. I eventually found a very nice used one on Ebay and, yes, I paid too much ($40) but you know sometimes if something is correct it is the principle of it and ignore the $. ( I also paid $20 for a glow in the dark “Spooky Pirate” toy from Capt’ Crunch.)
And it is an awesome little light.
Well, now, I have come into possession of a couple NOS ones. If there is anyone out there looking to replace their light and only this one will do I will list them on Ebay. My user name is At-Height. I also have some parts and pieces from the broken one if someone is trying to repair their light.
Thanks,
