WTS: Cerakote services

Heat conduction not electrical conduction lol
OK thnx for the fast replies.
Cmon people fill up the white list so I can get two lights done at the same time

I saw this while googling… Do mix GITD dust with your white cerakote?

I would love to do that to my SF L2T with the M3 head and S8 switch!!

Wow that’s interesting to mix gitd powder in there.

No idea what the camera setting are of course but looks pretty good to me! Wonder what ratio he used.

Btw I vote for white too!

Totally wag but it seems common sense that a layer between the warm metal and ambient would slow heat transfer. I also doubt it be a significant effect unless the layer were much thicker. A worthwhile trade off in any case.

I should have KKW’s light from the contest ready to post tomorrow as well as four other lights (once I get customer’s permission). I will also have pictures of a UF-1503, UF-1504, and UF-1505 in Flat Dark Earth, Black, and OD Green.

I will probably end up with white, as I am contemplating doing the glow in the dark. It looks pretty cool plus nobody is really doing that. I could maybe do a BLF Special Edition light. Buy hosts, spray them, then build them and sell them, kind of as a group buy. Maybe do 25 of a smallish light like some of the Convoys of maybe a UF-1505, direct drive FET with guppdrv program, and a LED on copper. Or I could just do the hosts only. The GITD powder is kind of expensive for the amount is need. I need to find a cheaper source. These will be fairly time consuming as the lights will have to be sprayed in white, cured, then resprayed with clear that has GITD powder in it. The clear is air dry and takes a week to cure. With all that work, it would definitely not be feasible to do one or two lights at a time. The other thing that may be the killer, I read where the finish has a fine sandpaper like feel to it with the powder mix in with the clear. I dunno, something to think about.

Maybe just gitd part and clear coat the rest? Keep it smooth under the hand? Since it’s in a clear coat could it be done to any color?

I kinda like the mild sandpaper feel. Don’t have the need for knurling

Tactical series. UF-1503, UF-1504, UF-1505 in Graphite Black, OD Green, and Magpul Flat Dark Earth.

Lights the I coated for Vinte77.

KKW’s light he had coated from winning the contest.

Dayum, I love the green with the brass ring accent. The new gun looks like it’s working great!

Wow, I really like the desert color.

Maybe when I get some cw XP-L HIs I can send you my M43 to do a desert job on it with a black bezel and black tailcap.

I know. When he first asked for it, I was thinking “ehhhh, ok” because I couldn’t picture it. I think it looks awesome.

One thing to note, since you can’t tell from the picture. The convoy S2+ in graphite black started out as a red S2+ with the metal switch (I didn’t have the patience to wait around for another color version to come out).

Gun porn for everybody

Today, I received the 4 lights that I had sent in to get cerakoted and I have to say I couldn’t be happier. There was a lot of communications all throughout the process and a lot of attention to detail. I would give 2 thumbs up for the quality of the cerakoting services. Here are some pictures of the lights put back together.

I had a hard time posting the pictures but now they are up.

Worth the wait, I’m loving the extra pics of the green and brass light. What’s the host light?
