Just curious, how do people intend to use this emitter? Which host have you identified that could make use of this emitter? Since it’s 12V, and most XHP 70.2 lights are 6V, doesn’t seem like a lot of opportunities to use this. XHP35 lights are 12V but the optics/reflector will not fit over this.
I’m planning to try the 22mm 2.3A Convoy XHP35 boost driver. I ordered it but have not received it. The mod is probably a Yootoo SD2, because I think it fits the driver reasonably well (stock driver is 23mm). Not sure how the reflector will fit, it needs at least reaming to fit around the led.
Received my 3 today. They were well packaged in a sealed static bag like factory seal. Do you actually have a packager or did you order them prepackaged?
I’m waiting for my FT02 v2 and maybe thinking of swapping it in the Noctigon K1 XHP35 HI version. Should make for a very nice ultra HI CRI thrower.
Thanks for all your effort to bring us this emitter! Now just patiently waiting for Djozz’s test.
Of course I will do some spectrum testing, but if you refer to output/voltage, I was not planning on that because I expect it not much different from the 5000K one.
I’m waiting on a XHP35 driver, I was thinking of first do the mod and then check the tint.
I had been wanting to upgrade my Jaxman Z1 for a while and this emitter seemed like a good opportunity to do it. I had a Kiriba-ru Cu pill and when the H2-C driver arrived the other day I jumped on it
Now I don’t have to go through the H-M-L-strobe-SOS modes it came with. And as a bonus when zoomed in I don’t have just four panels but 16!. One thing that is visible when zoomed in is that the individual panels are not uniformly colored. It’s a little hard to tell in this image because I can’t bring the emitter surface into complete focus, but some of them are yellower than others (upper left) and there is a dark spot lower right of center.
It doesn’t really affect the beam when zoomed out (flood mode) and I will typically use more flood mode than zoom mode. I just wanted to show you guys an example of what you may get. So now I have improved modes and high CRI in my Z1! Thanks rngwn.
An additional note, I’m not sure what driver they sent me. It has four modes that correspond to very low, low, medium and high, but double clicking goes to turbo and triple clicking goes to strobe, modes not listed for the H2-C description at the place I ordered it. It’s drawing over 4A on turbo but I only have a Fluke meter to do tail measurements so I’m probably measuring too low.
I’m surprised at the huge difference in tint within the same emitter. I was thinking of modding a Cometa with copper pill but you just saved me the trouble. Thanks for letting us know.
