I am starting this thread to see if there is any interest in a “trading lights” type of posting thread. Most of us have more lights than we use, and what was good at one time, we now want something else. I figure on a forum like this, there should be some good trades to be had. I know I have consolidated my wants a bit and have lights that I will not use, but would like others to back up the ones I currently have.

I will start my actual items for trade and what I am looking for in the next post and keep the OP here open for guidelines and suggestions from other members on how this can go.

I am suggesting a region in the thread title. Being US based myself, the shipping outside of the US, even to our bordering countries of Canada and Mexico can be outrageous. So in my post, I will start with the region and then the lights I have and what I am looking for…

I would expect most of the transaction to take place via PM, and keep only the listings and occasional “I’ll TAKE IT!!!” as the majority of the thread if that sounds good. I am not even going to post pictures right now, but they will be available via PM/Email. Feel free to post pictures of your lights of course. I just want to keep the post simple for now.

If you are willing to trade for anything else, or take partial trades with money to make up for it, please list this as well.

US only due to shipping, if you are outside of the US and still want a light, I am willing to work to split the postage if within reason.

Lights Available To Trade/Sell (make offer)

BLF X5 (aluminum) Nichia 219C 5000K emitter and Lighted tail cap mod removed from driver and switch. Spring Bypass front and rear. Used, but not abused, a couple of small dings in the anodizing.

Astrolux S41 Nichia 219B version, stock, spring bypasses can be done if wanted.

JetBeam Jet1-MK AA/14500 light, CW, new in box, tested and put away.

DQG Tiny 3 18650 NW (metal button version) New in box

Convoy S2+ Triple build, let me know what you want… I have Nichia 219C 5000K/ XPG3 3A right now, and BLF A6 driver (stock version from Banggood). I can also build a 1.4A 18500 Triple from one of these S2+ hosts, it would take a little longer. I use guppydrv universal on these drivers.

On the road M3 Triple Nichia 219C 5000K. Stock driver, not much, if any brighter than stock, but you can put different optics in for more flood (Clear narrow optic in now). Light only…

Can also do emitter swaps or spring bypasses on your lights as partial trade (depending on model) if this helps.

I have the following up for trade:

Thorfire VG10 - Very light use, have 2 and really only need one. Only a couple of tiny nicks in the ano, near the tailcap. Great ML mode on these.

Ultrafire C3 Stainless Steel - Stock driver works well with NiMH AA, some PWM.

Xtar WK41 - Couple of small ano nick. Works well.

Knives to trade for Flashlights, pretty much open to any kind of flashlights, except twistys….

Hinderer Design Kershaw Thermite…like new does show light carry marks on scale blade unused.

Kershaw Blacked out Leek….like new

My totally biased opinion:
Copper for the Win! :slight_smile: It is the most Oligodynamic. (self sterilizing)
Also the Copper Tool w Nichia is a direct lego (just say No to Cool White)
Titanium has gritty threads, best for a clicky not a twisty. But Ti is also less efficient, see maukka below…
Brass has an issue with Lead content accumulating on the surface, and its a Poor Conductor, though Ti is even worse.

I have the copper, will likely go with titanium and then brass. I have converted all of the Maratac and Lumintops to Nichia 219b’s SW45 bin, can’t stand cold lights. This weekend I am going to likely swap 3 of them to 1 each 3,4 and 5 bin high CRI XP-G3’s to see what my favorite will be. I will post comparison tint shots next week if I get them done this weekend.

I am debating going through my stuff and listing a few things for sale. Maybe I will cross post them here.

Off the top of my head I have a ZT0801, an HTM Gunhammer (DLC bowie blade, green aluminum scales, manual), and a BLF/Kronos X5/X6 numbered Box set.

I saw one post looking for drop ins, I am sure I have a few of them I can get rid of too, lol. Stay tuned. (but be patient, lol)

I have a foursevens bolt that I wouldn’t mind trading. It runs off of 2 cr2 batteries, it will run off a 14500 cell but foursevens doesn’t reccomend it. I have 8 fresh cr2 batteries that I’ll throw in with it as well. I’m pretty open to different lights. A decent thrower might be nice.

I have an x5 from the original group buy with a quad conversion. The light has been converted to a quad using a copper spacer from kirabiru, 4 x XPL-HI cool tint, 10621 carclo optic, H17F driver, and bypassed springs on switch. The pocket clip has also been modified so that it clips on better. I will also throw in 2 x 14500 batteries with the trade (efest and windyfire cells).

I am looking for a convoy L2 host or hard to find solarforce parts for trade.
