I took this baby on a few night shifts and had it in my pocket for a week. This informs my review which does not focus on the technical side of things but the practical aspects.
The Wuben E8 has a bunch of progressive ideas inbuilt but also shows classic, almost old-style EDC-light qualities. Notable is the reverse-clicky switch with a great mechanical feel, the ability to take ordinary AAs and modern 14500 cells. The light is pleasant for close- to midrange with a lovely neutral white color, fit and finish are almost perfect while the lantern mode offers great utility and the 365 NM-UV is at the very least potent and not in the way. Those shrouds actually hold on well and offer good opportunities for custom designs (3D-print files are available). The threaded connector is for spinner support but might serve other additions as well. There are slots for tritium glow elements for those of us who are more daring. The light is compact, feels good in hand and is responsive. It stands out in the market and seems quite collectible.
Downsides: The Titanium clip is very good and so is the hardware (screws) but it still came a bit loose after a few days carry. Threadlocker glue will fix this. The tailswitch is wonderful to operate but I managed to offend the smooth operation with dirt and fluids which made it jam a tiny bit: Cleaning and silicone spray fixed that.
