Wurkkos HD20 - Power Bank feature issues

I’ve had the Wurkkos HD20 for a couple days now. I was excited to get a light that can function as a power bank. It’s my only light that does that trick, and it seems like a useful feature. I’ve tried to test this on two phones and two different USB-C to USB-C cables. I’ve not been able to get it to work as a power bank. Is there a trick to this?

The phones are Pixel 3 and Motorola G6. The cables are OEM USB-C cable that came with the Pixel, and a generic USB-C (USB 3.0) cable from Amazon. Both phones are fairly recent, and I’m covering the high end and low end of USB-C cables.

Is there a trick to activating the power bank feature? I’ve waited until the phone really needs charging (42%). And the battery is fully charged. There’s no mention in the manual of how this feature works - it just tells you to connect it.

Edit: Want to note that both my phones and both the cables will charge off of a PB2S li-ion charger/powerbank. So, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my phones or the cables.

This is a known issue with the HD20. It works with some devices, depending on the USB implementation. As a basic rule everything with micro USB should be fine, dumb devices like most other flashlights as well. But if the device contains a controller to negotiate voltage and current, it might not work.

Curious to see if anyone has gotten the powerbank feature to work with any USB-C phones.

Yes, but that’s the only device I managed to work with HD20. It’s a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T using a BASEUS 100W type C-C cable.

Bummer. Not exactly a common phone here in the states.
