As you know the original design available in Wurkkos TS27, and officially launched in 2025 winter.
2026 begin now, we once again received more designs from Wurkkos family—I can’t refuse such a kind offer. I’d love to share their outstanding designs with community all and discuss how we can create more exceptional flashlights.
Let’s joined Wurkkos new lights party right now! Lol

I just get a wonderful new toy——the 32140 LiFePO4 battery with 15000mAh power. It will be more safe and worth than Li-Ion battery. But the shortcoming is heavy too (the weight is 290g).
So I have a new idea now, the thrower with SFT40 LED, regulated output on 1300 lumens.
Would you interested it? Or do you have any else better idea?
Personally, I think this flashlight would be rather big and heavy. What I associate with flashlight with big batteries, are floody beams and amazing runtime. I would rather like an XHP70.3 HI in 6 volt with a boost driver. This would make for a powerful and efficient flashlight with amazing runtimes.
LiFePO4 batteries are a safer, very stable, long life chemistry. Short fall is less energy. This would be a better choice for many first responder lights that get hard use. Then put up in the charger until the next time. This could be a light used for days when disaster strike like a hurricane and no rechargers are around. Please make it SFT40 or SFT70, waterproof external charging contacts. Very simple UI, tail cap on/off only, side switch for mode changing. That battery would make it a LEO patrol light size many agencies currently use. Plenty of mass to be used all shift without over heating on high.
I use such 33140 LFP in Maglite 3D LED - it’s OK when You want something safer than standard Li-Ion, but apart from that - Li-Ion with cobalt are better option for flashlights.
I would want something like a modern 2D Maglite with a switch on the side under the head, a type c port for charging of course because this cell is weird, and a big nice TIR to give a useful beam that isn’t too throwy or too floody, just right.
Or maybe an EMP-proof flashlight? LiFePO4 have stable 3,2v voltage, LED could be direct driven. With SST-40 should be enough for 1200lm for more than 4h. You may sell it with atomic mushroom decals.
Though I don’t know if LED itself is EMP-proof…
Now seriously - “granny light”, someting like Maglite 2D LED might be a good idea
The XHP70.3 HI might be a better LED for this project, paired with a driving circuit similar or exactly the same as the TS22 (6V boost, efficient and powerful), with 40mm to 50mm optics (either TIR or aluminium reflector). the output power of the TS22 driver would still be adequate for the purpose, paired with TD01 optics and the increased surface area (compared to the TS22) this would be a nice all rounder flashlight, with very good sustained brightness.
I have used IFR/lifepo4 cells in flashlights before. They usually work fine as discharge voltage is the same as for 3.6V li-ion, unless specific light has unusually high LVP/stepdown.
In general lifepo4 is great - better longevity, less likely to catch fire, etc. But specifically for a flashlight with replaceable cells (longevity is not a factor) where size maters… they are not amazing.
Just as an example - specific cell from OP is 48Wh. Vapcell F60 is 21.6Wh. 2xF60 is 43.2Wh. Nearly the same, but the size is effectively 21140 instead of 32140.
They also do not have wider temperature range compared to 3.6V li-ion, if anything they tend to be worse in cold conditions. Self-discharge characteristics are not better either.
And it is a relatively unusual cell, which will be harder to buy/replace now, and not sure how this form-factor will age.
So, is it really worth building a light around such battery compared to 2x21700? It is highly likely that i am not going to be interested in it personally…
Something with 46950 or 2x46950 on the other hand…
I meant that the LFP cell will have voltage in the range 3.25-3.35 volts most of the time. And actual value will rather depend on drain rate at the moment than on the remaining charge.
Ja…I hope so, the XHP70.3 HI is great with high performance to make flashlight powerful. We need test first if the LiFePO4 is suitable enough to equipped XHP70.3HI.
We tested the SFT40 earlier and made it constant output 1300 lumens above 2 hours.
