I’ve just bought this charger, I put two new Velamp rechargeable batteries (AAA 1000mAh) to charge, but it has been many hours that the light in the charger remains red.
If I try to fill the other 2 slots in the charger with 2 more batteries, however, 2 indicator lights are red and the other 2 are green and blinking. Is it normal or does the charger have some problem?
I don’t know how I can check if It’s charging at 500mA.
The cells came pre-charged (not fully), so probably if I test them they will work. I had tried a 18650 yesterday, same problem (indicator light never turned green even after many many hours). Although I found out that since it is a 4800mAh, it is a dangerous battery and should not be used, I was told that 18650s go up to 3500mAh maximum.
At this point it could be the faulty charger
edit: I forgot to say that, even though the light remained red, the 18650 was working
Yeah I know, but too many hours had passed for them not to have recharged. For now, this is enough for me which is cheap, I don’t have to use it much. However, I have already asked Amazon to replace the item, hopefully it will be resolved
If you have a DMM, aluminum foil, paper, and alligator clips you can see how many amps each slot is putting out. That should give you a clue into why the red light stays on.
