I literally had the thing for maybe 4 hours. I might have a problem. It was so lightweight I had to see what was in there. No screws on the outside, the thing is sealed shut, it does not want to be opened.
Pretty much. That’s why I wanted to take it apart in the first place. I was like, how is this so light? It feels empty.
Although I guess to be fair they put chargers and powerbanks inside flashlights so I suppose they don’t take up much room. I think the sc1 had more components on the board than this though
The manufacturer is seeing this post and they are gonna put a piece of concrete in the next version.
You reminded me that Sofirn and Wurkkos are willing to take a lot of internal space to add power bank in their lights but wouldn’t bother to provide a buck/boost driver for the main function of it.
Remember when Beats headphones got in trouble because people found like 1/3 of the weight was just chunks of metal? Lol.
They could use sturdier plastics instead.
Ya I said the exact same thing in the ts10 headlamp thread when they announced they added usb-c
Are they even still around? I assumed they were gone. They were huge in like 2010. I knew multiple people who bought and sold used beats headphones for a living thats how big they were here.
I had the cheapest pair you could get for awhile. They were still like $150. They were good I guess. But I’m not an audiophile I have no idea what’s actually good. I still have a beats pill that I never use. Probably the battery has been too deeply discharged by now
Yep, Beats headphones are still around.
They spend a lot on advertising.
This thread on Head-Fi is old, but it’s still a good source for Bluetooth headphones, and the author gives their impression of a then popular Beats model:
“Beats Studio Wireless
I am afraid I will not be able to place them higher in the ranking till they will cost as much as they’re worth: the half.
I can’t understand why people are willing to pay them so much if with same or less money they can get much better.
I also can’t believe that CNET ever possibly called them the best.
And I still ignore why Beats said that they support Aptx if they clearly don’t.
Anyway, they sound actually good. Not very good, and very far from being the best. But good. The bass is as to be expected strong but not so much as feared. It is anyway not of a remarkably good quality. Just ok. The mids are a bit lost in the V-Shaped signature which rather accentuates the highs which are unfortunately a bit harsh.
The detail is ok, the soundstage rather poor, and there is quite some veil and muddiness around. Ah yes, they can get quite loud.
They were very comfortable on my head, looked nicer than I will ever admit, and had one of the best wireless range in my tests, together with the Plantronics.
The carrying case and cables were tip top like we expect from the “appearance over substance” style of Beats.”
