Your coolest / best / favorite flashlight of 2024?

Yep. Begs the question, but i guess you won’t see Olights or other Chinese brands on a SEALs DMR or a Army Rangers SAW for a reason.

I picked up the Acebeam L35 2.0 in blue. I think that might be the only light I bought in 2024. I’ll have to go back and check my order histories to be sure. At any rate, the L35 2.0 is well made and I love the interface. The beam could be slightly cleaner (rings and stuff) but it’s no issue when used outside which is wear it belongs.

The TS10SG was a good idea, but poorly implemented: the TIR they chose cuts the potential intensity by half and introduces weird artifacts. A Convoy T6 beats it easily.

Hype.
It’s a glorious thing. Just keep saying that your light is so marvelous.
I don’t believe you.
Value for money.
If you want a $200+++ light, go for it.
Expensive toys are expensive mostly so you can show off. There are exceptions, but they’re rare.
I’d rather a good light(and 4 spares).
When that light fails -because it isn’t divine-
Call the warranty truck while you’re in the dark.
I’d just grab a spare. Or it’s easily repairable/modifiable.

I’d rather have quality of what I’m seeing over power. Decent light with decent power.
At a decent price.

Rather have adjustability of interface over
Someone Else’s idea of what i should have.
Quality of light over quantity.

BUDGET Light Forum. Where we go to not be impressed by overpriced lights.

Convoy’s interfaces aren’t that bad.
I’ve seen tests where their durability/toughness/ip is close to or better than much more expensive ones.

Have at me, o weapon mounted eagles!
Have at me, o 7000000 candela raptors!

My main goal is not to be ripped off.

Don’t care where it’s made as long as it works decently for a reasonable amount of time.

AA/14500: handy, small. Good in a pinch.
I like the dw3aa but haven’t been able to justify its price yet-

The results from this survey are not accurate as the sample size was too small. Also the question was only directed to BLF members which represents only handful of flashlight users.

Bottom line, buy what you want and never look back.

Hear hear

The thread wasn’t 100% “correct”, i replied only for one flashlight the Vastlite Sima, i could easily include all the Fenix, all the FireflyLite, and some very nice and unique flashlights from other brands !

Hmm maybe it depends on how deep are you into flashlight fandom too. I mean, probably if you are a big fan with years in the hobby, you can see better the problems.

I do like the SG a lot, if you are out in a wallk I think it is better than a TS10v2 because it throws more while still having a very nice light.

Anyway, if this light can be improved so much… C’mon Wurkkos, SG v2 plz

It might not be reliability. If SHTF with China, you don’t want to be using equipment supplied by your enemy.

It is also possible that SF carry out various tests on their equipment as mandated by the US government, to ensure they meet minimum standards of durability.

I wonder what LEOs buy these days? You’d think of all people, bar the military, they’d only buy gear they can trust.

Stick a piece of D-C-Fix milky on the glass, inside or outside, it’ll smooth it out at the cost of a little throw. Assuming it bothers you. I ummed and ahhed over the blue, but chickened out and chose black. It is a beautiful light.

let me try to help…
start with a $21 light with Aux and Anduril, that uses a FET driver and runs on 14500, such as a Wurkkos TS10

then, hire a profesionall modder to install a dual fuel AA/14500 Boost Driver, with NoPWM. Plus 3 custom LEDs of your choosing, for $21 more

and that is the new and improved TS10, in the body of a D3AA

I agree, the TS10SG has a much better beam for walking outdoors. Glad youre enjoying yours.

Read that post you did before.
Heartily agree with that justification.
Still
The little ones are ez to lose, so i fear I’ll just use something close to what I’d want & cheaper. Sp10p hd10 t3 e2a t5 t6 t7
(got those+handful cheapos+lil buttons)
Then may b dwaa, when feelinfancy
After those, went w v small 18650+/18350(21700/22340) ones(nearly or as convenient)
Prefer to have 8+ lil ones spread around rather than 2or3 i might moan about losing me lucky charms.

I get quite a bit more picky when something with a few hours of brighter use is involved.
Even then went w fireflies, as their emitters and drivers please me greatly as they’re priced in, not cost plus++

Most of the time the lil ones best use case is brief/sufficient/light quality = good.
