Zebralight advice

I bought a few years age a Zebralight SC 600w IV Plus and I endjoy it almost every day by use. Now I want to buy a second one but I like the SC700d high maybe even better. Should I go for the still available updated version of SC600w IV plus High or does the 30 dollar extra give me even a better experience? May is this question for many not very actual, but if someone of you readers can give me some comment, I would appreciate it very much. Gert

There’s a big size difference when you jump from the 600 to the 700. I’d say the 700 is more of a jacket or bag carry, as it has a pretty wide head, but if you’re comfortable with that, then it’s a nice improvement, both with emitter, throw, and runtime.

I agree, I have the 700 and its a big light. Not really meant for EDC.

Personally I would decide based on the size. The SC600 is easily pocketable to EDC, but the SC700 is significantly larger. I would only carry it in a jacket pocket, but many people seem to be fine using it as their primary light for night activities. It is definitely noticeably brighter than the SC600 at max and sustained levels.

Thank you, that helps. Is there any noticeble color difference or beampattern compared to my 600IV plus neutral light, with these two lights?

The domeless HI versions of Cree LEDs have much less of the Cree rainbow in the beam. The photo and video here demonstrates it well.

I would consider the SC600w Plus HI enough of an upgrade over the XHP50.2 version to justify the cost, and the SC700 will perform similarly. Both have the usual Cree tint lottery, though neither has been too bad in my recent orders.

Yes i like the picture of the new XHP50.3 , but the beampattern seems less floody but will probably be OK. Thank you BOB for this info. It helps me to make a decision.

I try to bring all info together and come to early conclusions. Over all the50.3/70.3 is better, the 700 is bigger, shines 20 percent brighter and further and longer while the color is same like 600IV plus HI. Right?

For ordering outside the US, I came across a buying site outside the US for Zebralight. Does anyone know anything about skylumen.com Can I trust this site? Is there anothe site to buy Zebralight for a person living in Belgium? I know that this is another topic but I searched already a longer time for this since it was not possible for me to buy in the US, where I bought my 600IV plus.

Skylumen is popular. They can be trusted

Why not buy direct.

Yeah, he’s trustworthy and ships to Europe. I ordered over 500$ of zebras from skylumen so far.

are there vat and or importtaxes when ordering with skylumen for Belgium?

Of course, you have to pay VAT when ordering from US. (and import taxes too, if it’s above 150 eur (shipping costs are excluded from this figure, but are still subject to VAT)
