Received my SC600 this past Friday and I love the light but the finish was awful. Anodizing was bad around the switch area, bare metal showing and some nicks on the head and tail. I put a RMA on-line the same day for exchange and haven’t gotten a response yet! There is no telephone # for CS, Google and found a number and a James answered and said he would check with CS and to put in another RMA in the meantime. You can only put in 1 RMA per order. So I email Customer service instead from their website. Still haven’t gotten a ackowledgement yet.
Has anyone dealt with Zebralight customer service?
Thanks for the info fnsooner. I read the thread you provided. The light works great and if it wasn’t for the bare metal showing especially where the switch is showing I would keep it. I requested if a new SC600 could be mailed out before returning the flawed one back, got shot down. Requested my exhanged SC600 be inspected before shipping to me, don’t know if they will do this.
I should have purchase the light from a reseller instead of directly from ZL.
I have three Zebralights and everyone has scratches right down to bare aluminum.
With what’s available on the market now I’ve decided to pass on any more lights from this company.
I just mailed my SC600 back to Zebralight in TX. I was expecting a flashlight with a finish like my Fenix. It’s $95, not cheap. So this is quality one should expect from ZL?
I’ve been through a lot of forums and quality control(scratched up lights) seems to be a big standard with Zebralights. Being in Canada I always have to decide if its worth my bother sending these things back and forth through customs borders, or live and learn.
I hope ZL comes through on the exchange and soon. I did request that ZL inspect the new SC600 to be shipped out be inspected first. I already miss my SC600, had in my paws for a few days and now it’s gone.
I just received in the mail my new replacement ZL SC600. Prinstine condition. The one I got originally looked like it was in someone’s pocket for 6 months! This new one is like a new firearm or a name brand knife finish. I might let it slide if it a budget light from China even though ZL is made in China, I expect a little more from companies like ZL, Fenix, Nitecore, Sunwayman just to name a few. Am I off base?
No, your not off base, your paying premium money, you want a premium product. If its not right, say so, you’ve paid the premium, it should be perfect! If you want cheap/marred, buy **fires, accept the faults or learn to mod and fix the faults, its just as satisfying. 8)
I mean, I let it slide on my HD2010 and SRK from Tmart, a slight blemish or even a little ding I can live with. But the better name brand lights I expect pretty much a blemish free product.
