One member on another forum posted a picture of his H31F and it looked so cute! Aww. >.< But the thing is the SC52 would probably be a better buy since I already have the Preon P0. I guess it would be for when I need a light outdoors, when the EA4W is too big… It’s not that big though. I can’t make up my mind.
The EA4 looks nice, but I didn’t get one because it has no low modes and it’s quite a bit bigger than a Convoy S3 with the same amount of lumens. It would be a nice pocket thrower though, possibly easier to carry than my XinTD C8.
As for H31F vs SC52, they’re really not similar enough to compare. Hybrid-floody angled light vs traditional w/ spot+spill. Both are good at what they do, but … what do you need it to do?
What do I need it for? Hmm… I just liked the way the H31F looked!! I don’t really honestly truly need another light as between the Preon P0 and EA4W everything is covered. I’m just a bit obsessed. I should really be looking at other things.
I’ve managed to avoid buying lights lately unless a light fills a gap for me or if I intend to gift it away. It sounds like the SC52 might be a good gap filler for you (er, Chloe).
The gap filled by my SC52 used to be a lot wider, but then I got a RRT01. They overlap a lot, but the SC52 is smaller and has very long runtimes at known output levels while the RRT01 is prettier, has a faster/easier UI, and has a better beam pattern and tint. I haven’t used the SC52 much lately except when I want a mood light or night light for relatively long amounts of time.
So, now I use the L3 L10-219 and H51w a lot, the RRT01 and iTP A3 a little, and the SC52 only occasionally. Everything else is more specialized, like a Convoy S3 for biking, XinTD C8 for long distance or getting the cat to come inside, SK-68 for projecting images, and SRK for impressing people or flagging them down from a distance. (“Don’t know where my house is? Just get in the general area then look for something like a lighthouse beam strobing up into the sky!”)
I really like using a 14500 in my SC52. You gain the stunning 500 lumen turbo mode without losing any of the low levels. Once you try a 14500 in it, you will probably not want to go back to running an Eneloop.
You can even use a AAA in it for emergency use.
I also plan on getting an SC52w when it is readily available.
No i have not bought the Nitecore holsters. I like the construction of the swm C10R holster with the elastic sides. Yes it is a bit tight, but in many respects a perfect fit. I am also gonna buy the Nitecore titanium clip for the SC52.
I have seen photos with it, and it's a perfect fit.
The original SC52 pocket clip is sort of unpractical or useless. Too stiff. And one cannot attach a lanyard to it. Well. Not really. Chloe buy one SC52 from Wallbuys too and you be happy.
I’m really enjoying my SC52 .
I’m very curious, I would try that clip . Some international seller Nitecore Titanium clip?
(wow!!, you are a great salesman kreisler, now I think I need that clip :_( )
The D10 clip is thinner and is not a 100% perfect fit. So the top recommendation is the EX11.2 clip. I think my friend ordered it from Chinese website called aliexpress or taobao.
Costs ~13$ shipped afaik, without tracking number.
Why so expensive? Because it is original nitecore and original titanium!!!
I fixed mine in just a few seconds. All I had to do was slide a credit card under the clip and pry it up a little to permanently loosen its tension. It works great now. Be careful not to loosen it too far though, or you’ll have to take it off and bend it back… which is much harder.
No kreisler, the screws of the Nitecore Ti clip are a bit higher metric, they do not fit 100%.
I guess that, since they screw onte the aluminium, you can screw them by aplying a bit of force, but it will damage the inner threads of the SC52 permanently, and no you then can not reverse to the stock clip.
