I have blue (5600) and red (both) on the slow boat from China. Pretty sure I’d hate a magnet on a pocket light. I have a thing for copper lights, so yes, I’d buy one or more of those. Maybe it was 3200 in the blue light……

I dont want a magnet on my light either, so decided to experiment filling in the hole with glow glue

well, this is the wrong tool for the job

I should have read the label more closely and bought glow in the dark hot glue stick instead
this stuff is like rubber cement, it peels off easily, shrinks a lot when it dries, and it takes a few hours to dry

Im doing some glow testing tonight, compared to the adhesive glow ring on another light… to see if the glow remains visible to dark adapted eyes overnight. P-light report in the morning…

I messaged Sofirn asking about the C01 Pro, any updates or any idea of when it’ll be released.

“yes, C01 Pro will come out soon.”

Not super useful, but at least we know it hasn’t been scrapped or anything and I do appreciate their quick response.

I am in conversation with Barry about a BLF version of the C01S ( = the final name for the “pro” ), I hope to achieve a version with the mode order reversed (so start in low), and without anodisation (and a nice BLF lettering).

Btw, the C01S has (obviously) a different head design as the C01, a standard design with a alu ledboard on a shelf, quite nice.

There is no discount arranged with Sofirn for the C01S, and to be frank, the price is so good that I would be embarrassed to ask for it.

I had initially ordered the warmer (3200k?) light. I seem to recall not having a choice at checkout, I don’t think I’m quite as quick as some of you guys at buying new lights and they were sold out of the other one already.

Sounds great! I think I’ll hold off ordering until the (possible) BLF version becomes available. Mode spacing is fine but I can’t deal with high -> low personally. Also I really like the sound of bare (or clear anodised) aluminium :+1:

I thought SST-20 version has been cancelled, so i LED swap my EDC01 with one SST-20 4000k 95 cri and loved the result, i don’t see the green tint(maybe because of the lens!) that some here in BLF say they see on the sst-20. Now let’s order an sofirn C01S…
BTW made an order from them on February 24th, and got the 1st tracking info today(Acceptance, Foshan, Guangdong Acceptance Center) they are running a bit late!

Start in ‘Low’ would be good djozz, good luck accomplishing that. :+1:

I do notice the head is a bit different, does it have a glass lens?? I can’t quite tell from the pictures……

update
the Elmers Glow in the dark glue IS equally visible when I am dark adapted, long after the fresh glow is discharged, same as the self adhesive glow disc

but the Elmers peels off easily… Hot Glow Glue would be more permanent.

cant photograph what it looks like when fully dark adapted and the glow is discharged, but it works fine
