I have been EDC This Light for a week or so now, and I have to say I like it very much

I paid about $18AUD which was only $3 more then my UF2100

This light is much nicer and well made. The stainless body is flawless, the fit and finish exceptional. Nice smooth ends, no sharp bits to shred pockets or fingers. The machining is perfect.

The beam is floodier than the UF2100, the hotspot is not so well defined and is much larger, opening up to a broad spread floody beam that lights up the whole back yard on high.

The tint looks to me a very nice warm white, although it’s supposed to be a regular T6, it is the nicest tint I have I think.

It is a little heavier then the 2100, but not enough to worry about. It feels very nice in the hand, solid, although the smoothness may make it slippery in some circumstances, so far it has been fine.

The modes are nicely spaced, although I would prefer low to be lower. No visible PWM, at least to my eyes.

The light tail stands and the head and reflector remove to make a shiny shiny candle that lights up the whole room. A moonlight mode and lower low would make this about perfect.

The brass and you can see near the head is actually the pill. Body and head thread onto it.

So far I have not had any heat problems, although I tend to use it only for short bursts.

Highly recommended light. Real quality. For the price, exceptional.

The light complete

A couple of shots of the parts. The driver is about 16mm + a little. The star is a round 16mm one.

Inside the tail cap. The boot is in tight. The external diameter is 14mm. It appears to be held in by another threaded cup which holds the internal switch components. The cup has no holes to insert a tool to undo it, but looks like its alloy and would be easy to remove. I didn’t try.

Tailcap boot would need to be changed (personal taste thing )

In the pictures I can see the model number on the head.
Is the FuBrothers brand on the light ?
If it is, do you think it would be easy to remove ?

Yes, the tail cap boot is the only thing about this light I don’t like lol.

FUBROTHER is laser etched along the body tube in larger letters than the model #. Same etching. I think it could be polished out with some brillo pads or similar, but it doesn’t overly stand out as it is. It doesn’t appear to be very deep. If you could spin it on a lathe or with a drill it should be quite easy to remove and leave the finish looking good.

All the similar ones I have seen have all been the same brand. Some sellers play it down, for obvious reasons. :wink:

Nice find, can you post pics of your light? would like to see how bad is the lettering.

Is that gawd awful rubber tail cap removable / replaceable? what size is it? how is the feel of the clickie? what size driver does it take?

Dear Flashlight Gods, Please influence the Chinese manufactures
to offer more unbranded hosts / lights.
They are TERRIBLE with brand names.

The clicky feels ok though, better than some I have. Overall I think the torch is under driven but it puts out more than enough light for me.

The only mod I would consider would be a lower low and moonlight mode. Maybe a driver similar to E’s 2100 deal.

Spot on Horst, I just took my UF2100 tail cap apart and the construction is similar. The button spring in the FUBROTHER is stronger and the plunger a bit more heavy duty too.

Had a good look at the etching. I don’t think its deep or hard to remove, I can’t feel it with my fingers or even when I run a thumbnail along it. When I’ve had it long enough to need a polish I guess I will see, otherwise I personally wouldn’t bother about it.

The tail cap thread just keeps getting smoother every time I take it apart. (stainless to stainless) All the others are smooth as (stainless to brass). It’s hard to fault the machining, no gaps anywhere. You can just feel the tail cap join with a thumbnail, but the head and body to pill join is almost unnoticeable. Smooooth and shiny.

Did I mention I really like this torch? :wink:

It has memory, but it takes a while to kick in. I never did work out exactly how long.

If you don’t wait long enough it just cycles modes
