Video Review: Cima 1, fixed blade bushcraft style knife with abuse test (Esee-3 Clone 7cr17MoV)

Hey there BLF, Got my 2nd Cima knife review finished up today, a little less than a week after I reviewed the Cima 1058. This one is a bit different, because it’s more of a bushcraft style blade modeled, okay copied, after the Esee-3. It features a micarta flax linen handle, and a titanium (?) powder coated blade made of 7Cr17MOV steel. I do some chop tests, cut some cardboard, and shave some arm hair. It’s short and sweet and hopefully a bit funny, and I apologize but I’m a bit sick and you can hear it in the voiceover. By the way, this was provided by GearBest for review and you can buy it at the below link. It’s non affiliate, but the one they wanted me to use.

More chopping tests! Awesome :)

It was almost as if that branch were a twig!

Full disclosure. That branch was pulled from a pile at random out back. It had been there a season or two, so it wasn’t exactly as hard as it once was.

Thanks for sharing .

Yet another fine review .

Great review mhanlen. I bet the internet joke made the wife raise an eyebrow

No poem???

She hasn’t watched it yet. Also I didn’t know if anyone caught it… Glad someone did!

Great review! I like the speed it has. And you certainly have mastered taking close-ups, they are perfect.

Love the knife as well, I may go for one!

When you say speed, you mean the overall length of the video?

Thanks for taking the time to review

This fine knife that could carve a canoe

It was funny to see

And I listened with glee

Though you sounded like you had the flu

Thanks for the dope rhyme!

And as a side note, the sheath is reversible for those left handed users. I am an idiot and it didn’t dawn on my as to why the clip was removable.

I went ahead and ordered one .

It looks like a good sturdy knife .

And it sharpens easy too. Enjoy!

Would love to see that in a bigger version and with a better steel. Would buy it in a heartbeat if the size would be like a RAT 7 or even like Izula 5 with 9cr18mov. Sheath looks functional too.

Another fine review. I need another fixed blade like I need a hole in the head but It has tempted me to buy one none the less.

Me too. I spend about half an hour today looking for such a knife on Aliexpress, and almost off of them sport 4 inch blades or shorter. Although, personally I use my Kukri for heavy duty chopping.

I feel ya. Or flashlight right? My Meteor should be here tomorrow when I get home.

+1

No, I mean that there's no hesitation anywhere, the pace is fast and it is full of nice informative shots :-)

and I do like short reviews!

Oh, and I bought the knife. I do not have many knifes (you don't want knifes in the city) but I really like this one.

Ok, thats what I meant too. Thanks! I am very concerned about the pacing and try to make them as fast paced an informative as possible. That and I prefer shorter runtimes too.

Any other vendors selling this knife? I want one, but don’t trust gearbest any more. If not is there some other comparable clone?
Thanks

As far as I know, no one else carries these knives yet. I have looked many other places for them, but it appears for now that only Gear Best carries them. Sorry!
