A weird thing happened to me when ordering from intl-outdoor. I got the light with a week of ordering it and it came from England. Anyone know what that’s about? Does Hank have a warehouse there?

I have noticed that he often uses Royal Mail as his shipping agent and that means that the goods normally is shipped via the UK (not that he has any office there).

I just received my first (18350/219C) and it is insanely bright for it’s size.
Quality is superb and UI is a new masterpiece from ToyKeeper.
Now I just have to figure out a way to attach it to my keyring…

All three of my D4s blink twice when a fresh battery of any size is put in. (Samsung 30q, Efest 18500, Aspire 18350). I think this is just a feature to let you know the light now has power.

That is correct. It blinks when power is connected, simply to indicate that it has power.

The lumens for the blink are one of the only things that bother me on this awesome light. I keep it manually locked out often and then in the middle of the night twist the bottom to have a pretty bright double flash in a dark room with eyes adjusted to the dark.

Oops! Did I do Thayat?

For the blink-on, You can always cover the head while screwing the tail cap on. Or close your eyes for that brief instant.

Facepalm

Edit: If you’re powering it up, your dark adjusted eyes are fixing to require to some adjustment anyway, right? lol Master the click and hold so it starts in moon… been doing this for a few years now with TK’s own ramping firmware. Wink

Has anyone tried the Nichia 319 in this D4? Wondering too how 4 XP-E2 in green would work out? Too much power? Maybe if using the 18350 and avoiding turbo when a fresh cell is installed?

Here’s just to verify what is obvious. Efficacy stays exactly the same on lower output within the 7135 range. Little nicks on the orange graph is me bumping into the setup while cleaning…

My green D4 with N219C’s came today. Big Smile

Even with a Panasonic NCR18650B cell it still get’s hot on Turbo and starts stepping down fairly quickly. Seems to me the tube is robust enough to bore it for a 20700…. will see about that. If I kill the long tube it’s not a big deal as I like the short configuration anyway.

Has anyone installed a TA Driver in one of these? I was thinking about it to significantly improve the efficiency of the medium modes considering how high Turbo is…

Swapped out the 5A2 XPL HI I had in one of my D4s for 3A XPL HI last night. Tint looks a very pure white, much cooler than before. Cooler even than 3D.

Might be a bit too cool for me. Next thing to try is a mix and match. Perhaps two 3A + two 5A2 or maybe three 3A + one 5A2

The green color made me buy it. A birthday present to myself. My birthday was Aug 9, so my birth stone is Peridot, which is lighter in color yes but close enough. Big Smile So if I can get it outputting green light as well, the inner Green Lantern will be happy. ROFLMAO

I like the Astrolux holsters – especially for the price the quality is nice.

219c with 20700 sure sounds cool, i dont know how you guys get on with 18350 or 18500’s………….I can run an 18650 down in minutes, few lasts/step downs and the cell V is 3.6v. In fact, i tested a vtc5 2600mah cell, from cold 100% stepping down/ramping till it settled . Left it for a few mins and checked the V at 3.98v. So roughly a normal use from max output.

I have 2 spare 18650’s with me now lol

Well, the Sanyo “B” cell has some 4200mAh and does around 10A, the “A” cell is around 3000mAh and does much more current. So I was thinking the high capacity B cell might be appropro

Dale I had zero doubts that this light would finally suck you right in. It’s hard to resist an awesome light, sold by Richard, tinkered on by TK, and created by Hank and Tom. That mix of ingredients leads to an awesome light any day of the year. It doesn’t matter how many of these hot rods you have cranked out over the last several years, just hard to resist when a new one with high quality and minimal price like the D4 comes within arms reach. It’s instinct really, we can’t be blamed for what nature makes us do.

10a would help control the crazy heat a little(may get another 5 seconds!) but seriously 4200mah in the tank is super useful……………i like the idea!
