Another small light I made today from this time electricians 20mm brass conduit fittings and some other bits & pieces to accompany the Plumbers version.
CRX Brass BumbleBee
This light is made from electricians parts as opposed to plumbers, powered by a 16340 cell with Nichia 219c D320 5000k emitter on a noctigon MCPCB and has a single mode restricted to 1A via resistor.
Length – 43mm
Width – 21mm
Weight – 57 grams (with cell)
Max – 310 lm
Another awesome flashlight CRX! What’s that black stuff between the brass? Is it some type of plastic paste? And I never heard of a QTC (Quantum Tunnelling Composite) pill before. Sounds interesting.
It’s a mix of JBWeld and a little graphite powder.
Yeah the QTC material can be useful in twisty lights like this where there is not really space for a driver, it’s not a perfect solution but works ok for variable output if everything’s smooth, just got to watch the cell voltage if not using protected cells.
Well, as much as I love the MT-G2 BLF-348 and the SRK (which I use every day, btw) I’d be stoked to own this one too. And I happen to be a licensed Electrician as well, so…
