The year 2017 is about to end so i guess we can start voting for our favorite lights of the year.
Here is my list:
1. BLF Q8 - Best output and quality for the price
2. BLF GT - Best monster thrower for the price
3. Emisar D4 - Best stock pocket rocket ever
4. Astrolux MF-01 - Best monster flooder for the price
5. Lumintop Ant Brass - Cutest classy AAA light
Note: i included the GT without having it in hand yet since it is about to ship and assuming it will be as expected.
PS: I just realize i’ve been stealing ChibiM tradition here. Please forgive me.
BLF`s favorites of the past years:
What was your best flashlight of 2016
What was your best flashlight of 2015
Best stock flashlight buy in 2014
Best modified flashlight buy in 2014
Best 3 of 2013
Best budget flashlights of 2012
best budget light in category : value for money 2011
What’s the best flashlight, (for the money you paid) that you ever bought? 2010
What I consider as Best would be a light I use daily. So that narrows the herd significantly. It’s also one I modded myself.
Some consider a magnet a nuisance but I require it in a light I use daily. My Clone M3 build:
MtnE 15mm Fet+1 with D4 v.2 style rampingIOS,
XM-L2 T6 4C on 14mm SinkPad,
ME4056 charger circuit lowered to 550mA
relocated Red LED from ME4056 to the SW board
Green LED always lit except when charging
Hacked a magnetic (waterproof) charge port adapter and mounted where the micro USB used to be.
Green LED is lit all the time but green goes out and red turns on while charging. When Charge completes, no LEDs are lit.
I think the new Astrolux lights and the Emisars are definitely up there. I love my MF-01 and D4 more than most everything else I have bought this year.
Having said that, how about the best actual budget light of the year? Or the best all around for the money?
With those criteria, I would have to give it to the Zanflare F1. For the money you spend (with a code) and what you get, I would have to say it is definitely the best all around budget light of 2017. Is there a better light out there for $9.99-$12.99? If so, I haven’t yet found it.
My vote goes to the Nitecore EC23. It’s 1/4th of an inch shorter than my Fenix PD35 and nearly twice as bright 960 vs 1800 lumens. I can’t wait to see where they take this next.
1. My best light of 2017 is probably the BLF Q8...... Because.......its the only light I bought for myself in 2017 :D And I havent even used it properly.
2. BLF GT? But I haven`t received it yet, so would have to wait and see if it should be on next year`s list ;)
Thank you for continuing the tradition.
It is really fun to see what lights made the list in the past years! It`s a nice sum up of flashlight history on BLF!!!
Sorry I missed that. Still a bit late though, I don’t see how an item can be voted for already as a 2017 item without any actual production run owners.
