Iâm not too bummed at it being FET. I donât ever use these thrower lights at lower modes anyway, usually just at turbo.
Maybe Lumintop can make up for it
BY NOT GLUING THE BATTERY TUBE!

+1 - My feelings exactlyâŚ. :+1:
No shipping notification yet.
shipping starts next week
Same here, they just share the information that they think is necessary, nothing about shipment!! Now the changing driver, I guess im out⌠depended on the answer i´ll getâŚ
Whatâs to share about shipping if shipping has not started yet??

If I order an extra diffuser how would I know if itâs included in my first order (with the flashlight) or if will be shipped separately? I havenât had any notice of shipment yet

Since i have to justify myself for a simple question?
Each region n locals are different, and if it´s allowed I like to plan my post / parcels incomingâŚ

Nope, you do not âhave to justifyâ your statement; that is/was your choice.
I was just curious. Your explanation satisified that curosity.
More beautiful photos from steel_1024 in that thread!
They include our first glimpse at the driver. I hope steel_1024 doesnât mind if I link them here:
Looks to be top shelf components used in this driver, InfineonFET/ 7135/Atiny85 not bad at all⌠:+1:
Hopefully that button doesnât snap off like the DQGâs were prone to do.

I think Iâll add a dollop of epoxy to the help support the switch while Iâm in there flashing AndĂşril to the driver.

I think they used the the Parts from the FW3A (prototype) driver and changed the layout of the board a bit.
Nobodyâs mentioned it wonât be stuck at 1200 lumens anymoreâŚ.

Your right⌠in this thread not a soul mentioned it. :+1:
But in another thread the possibility was mentionedâŚâŚ

Yes, those wires will cause a massive voltage drop and thus current drop. Okay, thatâs good to hear. Were you able to do a tail cap amp draw test to see what it does in the light? With a FET, it could exceed the 1200 lumen and throw specs.

The DQG 26650 7x xpg had a different button style that was taller and was not soldered at the front bottom of the switch. You could get more leverage on it and the solder points made it weaker. Even so, only a few got pushed over. Mine never did. Here is a pic.
This Lumintop button is lower so there is less leverage. Plus you can see the solder points at the front bottom corners. This should make it less prone to bending backwards.
Overall, I donât think there is any cause for concern.

Texas_Ace measured it at 1200 lumen before taking it apart to swap the emitter. So it lives up to the rating. Of course, we might get more out of it by bypassing the springs.
All I can really say is that yâall KNOW mine wonât be making 1200 lumens. Not after the first hour in this house it wonât.
