The fishing rod rests on that device and the fishing line goes in that tiny inner wheel. I guess when it senses line rolling it will raise up and possible alert the fisherman in other ways too.
As a kid we just clipped a bell to the end of the rod and I’m not even old enough to begin sentences this way.
I was kind of dumb founded myself as to what they where thinking. 1mm longer slots and 2x12mm would work fine and the size is pretty common. When I first measured the slots I thought they would work, that’s the reason I ordered that size. But the slots are just barely not long enough. :person_facepalming:
I have seen a few post about people using 2x10mm trit vials, so I know they exist, I just can’t find a seller. I think there was a guy on the other flashlight forum that did carry this size, but don’t hold me to that. Have no idea if he is still even in the marketplace area there or not, I don’t visit there anymore.
And no the 2.5mm in width will not fit unless you modify it. 2x10mm is as big as will fit drop in style, of coarse anything smaller will fit also, just not as much illuminated area. I checked with a drill bit at 2.49mm and it will not fit. The slots appear to be as best as I can measure around 2.25mm wide. If you have a rotary tool and a small cutting or grinding bit, It doesn’t take to much effort to fit the larger 2x12mm and the slots are cut in aluminum.
If anybody comes up with a source with 2x10mm trit vials, please post up the source, several people here would probably buy 3 per RRT01.
If you remember my video of the faulty RRT01… here’s a brief update. HK offered a replacement and I sent it back… they got the return on the 26th. I emailed them Monday if they had sent the replacement yet. They said they hadn’t gotten my return. I still had the receipt and tracking info… provided them that and pretty quickly got a refund for my purchase price and my shipping back to the NJ address. Was hoping for a replacement but I guess that won’t happen. So just a reminder- if you deal with HK Equipment and have a return keep your tracking info (like any retailer really). For now I’ll watch all the cool mods you guys will do with them. I’ve already spent that money on knives. I figured it was a little overpriced for what it was- maybe the price will come down and I’ll buy it again. I have to many zebralights and Emisars already.
I really like my old RRT01. It’s the best ring-control light I’ve tried, and I got really lucky with the tint. 5000K and it seems to be right on the blackbody line. It just needs low voltage protection and a battery check mode instead of SOS.
With an Oslon White Flat emitter installed, the new RRT01 could become a very popular light. With such a throwy beam, it would really stand out.
Dang it. After reading this thread, I pulled out my modded jetbeam tcr1. I love the UI so much I couldn’t resist the group buy and bought an rrt01. Curses…
no
I have Keepower Unprotected 1200mAh and it works in my original RRT-01, so I suspect it will also work in the new RRT-01
otoh, my Keepower Unprotected 750mAh does not work (the button top is wider)
if you want the option to use Protected… the new model does
still no battery check, but now theres a strobe
I would buy your old one…
LOL
congrats
you already have the best TiRotary, and it did not cost $1000 (HDS)
