I’ve got a coupla boosted C8 Driver/led inserts in mail.
One here. one in Cyberspace.
Also a Sofurn SD03.
One of the nicest looking/feeling torches I have.
It not working on arrival. grrr. and no stock left to replace.
It’s a shame they stopped prod, of such a nicely built torch.
Anybody here. In Qld preferably. That works on heads.
Copper board. Drivers?. Led to suit.
Not wanting a burner. just a good reliable working wet use light.
For boat and fishing. It’ll be a shame to throw away $27AUD.
I’ve got soldering iron etc. but very heavy handed and near blind for close work nowadays.
(Wrong side of 78yrs). OK with a welder and dragline though…
Regards
Macka.
I was thinking upgrading the head lights on my ride on mower or doing lights under the coffee table or on a timer in the chicken pen to regulate their daytime hrs during winter and lay more…
I recently set up a new garage door light; the roller door motor light is weak as hell and doesn’t illuminate anything, so I got a 12V3A power pack, into a 12V photo sensor relay, then out to a 36V1A buck regulator, and out to 2x 36v Cree COBs on old CPU heat sinks. In parallel to that buck, out to a 5V3A stepdown to a laser pointer in a line, to line up on my steering wheel when I’m parked in the right spot
Hey lads if you are after something cheap and cheerful check out the Coleman Divide +250 on a Amazon for around $8. Its a great light, well built and comes with batteries its a little on the bigger side but it should be able to with stand a beating if you give it to the kids. Its only got two modes so it should be easy for any one to use. They state 250 lumens but its brighter than that.
Best way I found was to get the 4x MCPCB from intl outdoor with them, and reflow to remove. Doesn’t give many options, but it’s the cheapest way I found. $16.50USD for four, but then there’s postage (unless you buy a bunch and get free shipping).
Only has 6500K and 5000K at the moment.
But actually in Aus, cutter are about the only people with them.
This place is good too - they sell Samsung, Sony/ Murato, Molicel, Tesla etc. in mainly 18650 and 21700. Prices generally seem good compared to other options. https://www.tinkertechau.com.au/
Join up on Olight’s website for Email updates. I received my second free light from them recently during the Black Friday sales.
So far I’ve got the i3 EOS AAA for free (well I paid $7.95 postage) and the second one was a free keyring rechargeable model- that was supposed to be for people that have purchased from them in the past. Somehow the previous free i3 EOS had clocked me as a previous buyer and I just paid postage for that second ( iTHX ) one too. They’re both really well made. I haven’t actually bought any lights off them at all- mainly due to most having the custom batteries.
I bought an Olight via Amazon (for a present) so qualified for the iTHX freebie as well.
There was another ‘free’ givaway for Christmas, an i3EOS in a snowflake design green.
Nice products but a bit expensive for me.
I think buying on Amazon includes postage which Olight charges $7.95 for orders less than $75
