26800 Lithium-ion battery

Hey, it works and only needed a little cutting. Slider is at it’s absolute limit. This is the little rig I do for comparative charging to get an idea of what the 26800 can do.

Hey guys, I ended up losing the 26800 charger that came with the NSX4 I got from Neal. Anyone locate a charger that works on these monsters?

Olight | Illuminate Your World. It’s a ten hour charge on a depleted cell, but it works. I’ve got three and they all cut off at 4.19-4.20 volts.

Thank you my friend!

We need to figure out how to charge this queen with a standard charger no modifications.

I have some news to report… I located the 26 800 charger that came with the Nightwatch NSX4 l I bought from Neal.

The brand and model are “YONii C2000” and it claims to charge at 2A. I connected it to a USB voltage display and it actually looks like it’s pulling about 1.6 A

Successfully charged the Queen 26800 quickly, however I don’t think the charge was very low

I emailed Neal to ask if he sells the charger separately. I’ll let you know if/when he replies

Has anyone in Australia sourced 26800 batteries?

That charger is available on banggood

If you try that Yonii charger it might be wise to stay present while it’s in use and have a multimeter handy for periodic checks. I don’t know who makes all of these chargers but several with this typical housing seem to have poor electronic controls in them. The similar 21700 Yonii charger that HKJ tested a couple years ago has very poor qualities and could pose a real danger of overcharging…not sure if the greater capacity/time/heat of 26800 cells could exacerbate that if the issue is still present in this model.

Very similar to the Folomov A1 which is discontinued. You can get the A10 Adeaska USB charger with magnetic cables. It charges at a solid 1 amp and the 2 magnetic leads are interchangeable so it doesn’t matter which end you put them on + or -. The magnets are not quite as strong as the original Folomov. And it allows you to use any battery as a bank with a male and female USB head. You can find them on Ali at anywhere from 4 to $6 at multiple stores. They stop at around 4.1+ volts. So you’re going to have a resting voltage of 4.04-4.06v. I almost always use a USB tester in front of it and if I happen to catch it once it’s dropped down to 0.5 amps or less I shut it down and end up with a resting voltage just over 4. I’ve used two of them for a few months without any issues mostly doing 18650.

Not I. There’s an Ali Express QueenBattery Store vendor but seems bulk buy 22units minimum, AUD$240 is the only option.

I have both the Yonii 26800 single charger and TrustFire magnetic cable charger. Both can charge up my 26800 cell, but of them takes hours to reach a full charge.

I have, sometimes, found at the same QB shop in Ali Express selling a set of four 26800 cells for about S$60 plus another S$6 or S$7 for shipping.

There are one or two other shops with lesser-known brands (no brand?) of 26800 cell, where I have bought from paying only about S$14 - 17 each, with free shipping. I have been using these “no brand” 26800 cells in my Astrolux FT03 (extended) and Convoy L6 and L7 (extended) without any issue, so far.

Can search on Ali Express for: HWB Sci & Tech Store, and Shenzhen Cozemate Electronics Store to check their latest prices. Could be lower during this BF and Cyber Monday sales.

+1

That’s true. I’ve tried a few of those low-cost Yonii chargers and several of them may not have a proper total cut-off termination.

Meaning, the charger’s light indicator does turn green (from red) when it’s nearly full charged (which seems to be about right, 4.20v +/- ),
however, when the charger indicator is green, the charger appears to continue charging at a diminishing low current, which means the battery is continuously being topped up (like a trickle charge).

I’ll have to double check which ones do, but the Yonii C1 (also available as the Eizfan NC1), Yonii Q1, Yonii Q1 Plus (also available as the Astrolux MC01), Yonii TC1 (also available as the Astrolux SC01), appear to do this (continue charging at a diminishing low current even when already ‘green’).

The Yonii C-2000 26800 battery charger also does this, based on my testing (cotinuously charges at a low current after the light indicator turns green). Removing the battery and checking voltage immediately after the light indicator turns green, the battery voltage is close to 4.20v though (may be something like 4.18v, but if leave the battery for another 2-3 hours, battery voltage increases to 4.22v, something like that). At least based on my limited test (removing the battery to check voltage, and placing it back on the charger to allow it to continue charging even when ‘green’, while monitoring the USB-side power consumption)…

(note I don’t have advanced equipment setup to check, but based on plugging to a USB meter (I monitored using EBD-USB+ load tester/meterwhich graphs the current used by the USB-powered charger), and the current is continuous.

The slightly more advanced model, Astrolux VC04 (rebrand of Yonii D4S) appears to cut off (no additional power consumption, at least based on the USB meter’s power usage) when battery becomes full though.

Cheers Sillen.
yeah 22 batteries a little bit over my requirements.
I’ll keep looking.

I’ll check them out.
cheers

I happened to take a second look at the Nitecore UI2 chargers that Cloud Defensive ships with their WMLs, and while they are not rated for it, they do indeed fit the Queen 26800 battery without modification or undue effort. It isn’t anything fancy, but I’m pleased to have found a solution for the FC40 L6 which should be here any day.

nice find. although checking the specs of the regular Nitecore UI2, it’s a relatively slow charger 2x 0.8A.

I wonder if the regular Nitecore UI2 has the same slot length as ths custom-label Cloud Defensive UI2, or they are different?

Maybe someone with a regular Nitecore UI2 can try to measure the slot length?

 Every light I converted to 26800 has built in charging. Works great.
