They even changed the numbers of cycles on the Lites to 5.000
And and on the original to 2100!
That is Panasonic!
Eneloop didn’t make those big jumps in the past, and was quite timid in putting new labels on them. I really think they aren’t any different, just hyped up by Panasonic! Not a good change!
I bet the C and D are still the 1st gen, because it still clearly shows 1000cycles, but changed it to 70% remaining capacity after 5 years!
The packaging still says “eneloop” on it. So maybe does it say “Panasonic” on one side of the battery and “eneloop” on the other and all we are seeing is Panasonic? Maybe it just says Panasonic twice. It doesn’t seem like you would want to eliminate a world-leading product name like eneloop. I can see getting rid of “Sanyo,” but not “eneloop.”
+1. As long as they perform up to spec, it doesn’t matter what they’re called.
The main criteria (for me) where batteries are concerned is reliability and consistency.
They could call it DUMBFIRE for all I care…
Chloe, that was my first thought. If this increases those buying good cells over brands they recognize it’s good for those of us already in the know. It potentially results in wider availability and/or more R&D dollars.
