Don,
I have the OP one that FlashPilot reviewed and I just received the smooth reflector version. To me, it has the same (or close enough) amount of spill but the throw is noticeably stronger. If I could only have one, I'd get the one with the smooth reflector. It's $26.34. For the money, this light is going to be hard to beat.

It's a little over your price range, but it needs no mods.
1. Three modes low, medium and high, no stupid strobe modes.
2. Brighter than my brightest light, my KD-C8.
3. An XML thrower, hard to believe but what a hot spot.
4. Absolutely awesome heat transfer.
5. Great threads and a real quality feel.
6. Put a little lube on the o rings, pop a battery in and it's play time.
Did I mention how much I love this light.
Nice looking light, E1320! I like how it has 3 usable modes. Is the stainless steel assault crown removable?

Yeah it's removable and needs to be "foyerized". At least the manufacturers are starting to get the hint about the stupid strobe modes, next improvement assault crown delete.
Does the flashlight function correctly with the crown removed?

The crown holds the lens and the reflector into the light. If you check the link you can see the pieces it holds in.

Wow, brighter than the KD C8? That's impressive. How does it compare regarding flood to the C8?

Don, so sorry for the thread hijack. At 20 feet the hotspot is one half of the size of the C8s.

I was looking at the TK-737 earlier on PriceAngels, You can get a little screw in extension so you can use it with 18650's - http://www.priceangels.com/Tank737_Flashlight_Extension_Tube___Ring_p5258.html

I have never seeen this one before. Slightly bigger than a TR-801, with side clickie and stainless both ends, SMO reflector. Could this be a hoist for a XM-L?

It would be better if they could put a SMO reflector in there.

Can you measure the current draw of both the OP version and smooth version please.
Sorry for the thread highjack...Don, I have no good suggestions for you but the Nextorch might be a good idea.

Hey Don I was just looking around and this one is kind of neat http://kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=11307
It has a side clicky and some nice shiny accents!
Wow, for those that are keeping track, that's the third apology (from three different individuals) for hijacking this thread.
And it seems that all three are probably unnecessary!
Well that's strange, I thought the TK-737 was supposed to be compatible out of the box with 18650? That's what it claims on most of the product pages on most sites with the exception of Priceangels.com

Indeed - given that I'm particularly guilty of this. And not just in forums - I do it all the time everywhere else too.
