Just ordered from manafont. How is this light compared to hd2010? The waiting begins. J)

I’ll let you know once mine comes in. My HD2010 just came in today and I love it! Its about equal to my UniqueFire UF-V6. HD is slightly brighter… only noticeable against a wall shot. The UF-V6 has tighter hotspot (1/3 of hd2010), and less spill. A couple more weeks, and I’ll see how it compares.

Yeah I’ve had the HD for about a month and love it.

I soldered an additional 0.22ohm resistor parallel with the 3 small smd resistors.

This increases the driver/led current. Now the measured current on the driver side is 3.2A.

And the output brightness increased from 600 to 750 lumen, and from 41kcd to 50kcd.

viffer750, what was the drive current on high before the mod?  Also, is that a 20mm driver board?  And how is the pill?  Is it hollow?  Good heatsinking?

-Garry

2.3-2.4A,

the star is bigger than 20mm, I don’t know exactly, I don’t want to take apart the head, now it is perfectly centered. Wink
I think it is 25mm.
The pill is not hollow, and the heatsinking is very good.

As a sanity test for your runtime graph which seems flat across entire lithium range, can you see if 1 cell has exact same output as 2? Or even better, it is possible to test boost capability with 2 AAs (directly with DMM)?

With 1 cell: yes, if the cell is good enough with low internal resistance. Probably the driver will not hold the constant current over the whole liion range, but in the first part of the discharge phase it will be regulated. It will not work with 2 AAs surely, it’s not a boost driver.

Ok, I've been pondering this light for weeks, as it looks like it will make a great bike light. Decided to take the plunge today, have it in my Shopping Cart and want to add the extra $2 for registered air mail upgrade. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add it - anyone here know?

If you are talking about manafont, then there already is registered shipping included. (for orders over $20)
edit:I actually tried to avoid registered shipping while ordering a ZY-T13 (i try not to cumbersome the mailman more than necessary) but couldn’t.

I placed an order for 2 lights half a day ago and they have already shipped. Smile

I have been wondering about this too.

How do you plan to mount it? twofish?

Probably in a TwoFake block. The elongated shape might make it harder in some of the hard plastic mounts, which tend to work only with round tubes. I have 3-4 other mounts I'll try as well.

Yep, exactly what I was wondering - how to mount that odd shape.  I wondered about those "two fake blocks".  I should get some of them anyway.

EDIT - BTR, where do you recommend getting them?  Manafont have them? (Since I'd order the light form there anyway.)

My latest batch was from ebay (just search for handlebar mount) and sort by cheapest,
less than $1.60 shipped.

Quality was good (on par with twofakes from more expensive vendors) and shipping was really fast.

Hmm… then those cells hold up to better than I would expect over the runtime. It only tails off at the very end.

In any case, CR123a’s might actually work here.

Anyone want to test with CR123’s and confirm?

Will this accept flat top 18650 or will they need the ‘nipple’

Candlepower (abbreviated as cp) is a now-obsolete unit which was used to express levels of light intensity.

Squidboy, I just saw your photo on the news feed for my messenger lolsome kind of bioluminescent squid thought it was a cool picture!

Oh and I have this baby on the way!!! Reading this thread makes me happy, and it just shipped yesterday 8)
Now comes the waiting game.

Would a higher ohm resistor feed it more current?

I messed up both of my Jacobs trying to dedome them. But from what I have seen the ZY-T08 I would say will out throw the Jacob A60 from what I have to go by here at the house in distance.

Why? I mean like they didn’t throw well enough stock? Shocked

Ok. I figure the answer will be curiousity. I do it too once in a crazy mood while.

Btw, are ya gonna try and de-dome the T08 too?

I’m not gonna fall for the dedoming trick again. No way. My FandyFire dedomed job still in my opinion don’t beat the Crelant 7G5.
