150 plus flashlights.

i did a quick count of all my lights, including the ones around the house, in the truck, boat, RV, garage, etc. and i estimated i have 150 + lights. Many of them are below the 20 dollar mark, but probally 1/3 are over.
Everytime i see a new light online or in a store, i feel the need to buy it. \
Am i addicted ? or am i just like everyone else here. :money_mouth_face:

You’re not an addict. You’re okay. Its a hobby. Keep buying

Now if you’re family is starving, neglected, and wearing clothes donated from your local church… then yeah, I think you’ve gone too far.

dam 150? thats quite a heavy collection you got there. anyone here can beat 150?

Both!

YES :)

When that is said, I dont think there are that many people who have 150+ lights. Some here have a lot though.

The BIG flashlight collection thread - List your flashlight collection here!

I made my own collection thread quite recently. Its always interesting to see what others have. ;)

I have 70 lights with the average price being 101.0777 according to my spreadsheet

i’m glad i don’t have that much… maybe around 100, and it’s already bugging my wife.
she said… with all that money i spent on flashlights and batteries, i could lease a Smart car for 3 years :expressionless:

Yeah, I got a ton of lights too. The real money has been spend on upgrade parts, supplies, and tools though. I haven't bothered trying to sell any of the ones I don't care for. Besides not having the time to sell them, I worry about being sued if something were to go wrong with one Li-ion wise.

I have not spent much on lights compared to some of my previous hobbies like Jeeps, street cars, motorcycles, etc. At times though, I look at all my lights and feel a bit silly. My wife doesn't hassle me too much. I think she rather I spend time working on lights than on some of the other options.

Tell your wife… “would you rather have a smart car with a grumpy husband, or a happy husband that laughs at black outs?”

Ah, that helps to explain buying 10 DSTs, and converting them to 1 light. :exmark:

Oh, feeling the need to buy every time is an addiction … buying more than a couple or any more expensive than a maglite is an uncontrolled disease, according to my family anyway. Still, they haven’t turned any of their gifts away. 8)

There are some things you can have 150 of and nobody would bat an eyelid; books, comics, dollars, peanuts - other things might raise an eyebrow; lawnmowers, underpants, false moustaches. Then there are those things where people just ask “Why?”.

I think 150 torches fall somewhere between the second and third.

Yep you’re addicted. Hobbies are addicting and fun. I have about 40 or so but I have sold that many at least on here and locally. I keep my budget at around $100 a month but I always have more than that to spend because I sell half of them after modding most of them. Nothing really expensive with my best performing lights being the ones I mod into beasts. Most of the money I have tossed away though has been on burt out drivers or emitters. I push my luck too often trying to get a little more and a little more out of my lights. But that’s the part I enjoy the most. If I wasn’t modding I probably would have gotten tired of this and moved on by now.

Ask her why anyone would ever lease a car ???

what a crazy thought

Well at least you have the money (and room in your house), then that’s fine. We all have this collector’s mentality.

this is well written

i think 150 is a lot of lights, but to each their own, no one i know understands my owning 8 flashlights and using them frequently

yes indeed. :stuck_out_tongue:
i am guess-timating my light value/total cost at around 1 grand give or take a hundred or so. Its what i saved after quitting smoking i guess 2 years ago.

used cigarettes have no resale value, nor can they be upgraded to the newest technology

Mine is 171 for now. I made a spreadsheet to classify according to their power sources, 17 1xAAA, 14 multiple AAA, 21 1xAA, 19 multiple AA, 8 1xCR123, 64 1x18650/2xCR123, 21 multiple 18650, and 7 26650 lıghts

Which are the best in the 1AA category?
