Today is not my day.. :(

Sigh… what a day, first I was tracking the light from Banggood. It showed that delivery attempt was made yesterday at 6:25 pm and driver left note that there’s no safe place to put it and notice was put on door.
what a piece of #@$! lazy driver… somebody is always home and there’s no notice left.
He probably knew that there’s nothing I can do to complain at that hour as business hour is closed.
what ticked me the most is… these things happened quiet often, someday it says it was delivered which isn’t, someday it just says notice is left … which then again no notice was left.

I’ve been quietly brush it off, but I think this guy started to push my button, especially I was waiting for the new flashlight to play with :stuck_out_tongue:

Then the bell rang this morning and I was ready to give my USPS driver an earful of comments that sure will make his day unpleasant too.
But to my delight… it was DHL instead and he brought me some goodies from Warsun

Bunch of nice solid lights that have heft feel to it  … I didn’t get the chance to put the battery in them yet and then the disaster struck!
As I happily put the last Warsun light to the shelf, it collapsed to the table below and sending avalanche of flashlights down to the floor with GOD awful rumble noise that I will never soon forget, followed by a loud and long F word that I can’t repeat it here and more F words that I ever said in a minute than I ever said a month :expressionless: |( :_(
Although I managed to block the shelf from falling down to the ground, unfortunately there’s so many flashlights that escape from the table to the floor below.
Such a heart breaking scene I tell you :_(

Picture before the avalanche

As it turn out upon close inspection… the nails that was used to hold the shelf is not deep enough as it was embedded in the wall plaster instead of the wood beams.
I have nobody else to blame, except myself as I was the one that installed it :Sp |(

with such heavy mixed emotion, I start to collect the lights one by one and inspect the damage… there’s few nicks on several lights… nothing major but some the expensive one didn’t escape the nicks either.
Surprisingly non of the lights suffer any crack or broken lens, so I laid them all on the living room and going to try to fix this shelf and buy longer wood screws :weary:

I guess the shelf could no longer held the additional weight of 20 new flashlights and 80 lithium batteries this month :stuck_out_tongue:

So what’s your story?

edit bad luck streak still continue, Finally I get the chance to test all my new Warsun light, one of them A10 is DOA… sigh :_(

O-M-G, real sorry to hear and see that.... I feel your pain

Well, at least you can tell us now what lights truly have the best anodizing maybe?

Oh no!! :frowning: Impressive collection though!

I’ll say Nitecore and Fenix, Thrunite was OK but got just slight anodize scratch but nothing major but not the cheap Fenix E35UE as it got nick on it :_(

Omg

Sorry to hear this. But it sounds like you escaped with a few nicks and a broken shelf. Could have had broken lenses/switches

Ahh, ok. Thanks for the crash test - taking one for the team...

Dang, so even the budget lights that appear to have good anodizing, maybe not so good, interesting...

Oh, the horror. Sorry to hear about your troubles :frowning:

We had a similar problem with the letter carrier not delivering those signature required packages and not giving us a notice like they should, leaving us to guess as to the status of our packages. Finally one day I went to complain and gave them a time, date and description of the carrier and told them that I actually saw him on the day he reported my package as un-deliverable. It turns out he is the shift supervisor and every time he fills in for another carrier, he does the same thing to everyone, knowing it will probably get blamed on the regular carrier. Now he knows I will drive into the post office and complain so it doesn’t happen very often since I made a big stink. And the very rare times nobody is home, our regular carrier will scrawl something resembling a name on the form and deliver it to us anyway.

Oh man! I can feel your pain :~ . That’s a lot of mess. Happy to read that all lenses survive

Sorry man. If it's any consolation. I think lights that have wear and nicks have more character. They just look better to me. Like they are actually being used and are having a fulfilling life doing their job.

Time to get yourself a proper floor standing shelf. That collection deserves it.

This could only happen on BLF. Budget Buying Lights Forum.

Im sorry to hear about the accident.

Next time someone says something about me having too many lights or something, Ill pull out this story..

"You know, there is this guy who put all his lights on a shelf. No, there were too shelves, one was not enough.. And one day.... ..."

(We all know what the true moral of the story is. Make sure that if you put flashlights on shelves, that they can handle more lights. Or get more shelves.)

How do you like the Warsun lights btw? Nice haul! :)

That’s my number 1 fear about my flashlight collection. :frowning:

DayLighter, I'm sorry about your accident but holy cow that's a lot of lights!

on a lighter note - how do you like the warsuns? Ive been looking at them

Aargh! I’ll leave the more explicit expletives to your imagination. On a helpful note, those shelf brackets are quite strong and if you use a magnet to find the wallboard nails or screws(where the studs are)it should have no trouble if your new screws are 2” or longer.

That’s what is called a true flashaholic there.

I told you DayLighter, you need to invest in a proper flashlight display case!

80 lb rated shelves just don't cut it anymore. It's happened too many times to mention ...My rule of thumb is to never stand 2xAA lights .In fact most of my lights are laid down for that very reason .Dominoes and flashlights never mix.

I've had the same experiance with the mailman as well and wonder how it could be easier to fill out a form them just ring the bell

my mail man doesnt even bother coming to the door or getting out of his truck

unless i am there at the box i get a pink slip and a 530 pm drive to the post office the following day

The Warsun is actually feels nice … it give solid feeling as it has weight to it… sadly I haven’t get the chance to put any battery in any one of them when the shelf is collapsed on me… now some of them even get nicks on it |( :_(

with my luck today as I was walking to my Post Office… I’m able to spot his truck parked by the hydrant few blocks away, but no one inside… so I waited for him by his truck… 20 mins later he still didn’t come back to his truck ( maybe he lived nearby and went home to Zzzz? :Sp )

So I took some pictures of his truck and the address that the truck was park and then went to Post Office and mail something to fellow BLF and file a complain to the manager regarding the notice… but of course I was met with” nothing we could do at this moment… why don’t you come back tomorrow with the notice ” |(

I told the manager that I saw his truck few blocks away from my house, and asked her to call the USPS driver and tell him to stay there while I walk back.

sigh…some people just have no pride when it come to their job. I understand if it’s pouring cats and dog outside or snowing, blizzard or just plain windy… but at a nice sunny day 65 degrees spring weather?? come on…

when I got home from the P.O, magically the packages appear ( hmm did someone at the P.O tipped him off? )… somehow it erase the pain a little bit, until I opened one of the package from banggood AAARRGHHH !!! WTF?? it’s convoy C8 instead Convoy L4 that I ordered |( |(

Wow… today is really is not my day, what could be worse?
