Te pics are gone! NOOOOOOOOoooooooo
Words can be broken,
so can bones.
Looking good. That one piece design seems like it will pose lots of challenges. Best wishes on your build.
Looks like you and Steve are taking it out on some reflectors. Quad vs triple.

looks like a very robust light! awesome work.
Very nice. They look like 20mm reflectors. How did you cut the angles on them.

the cutting of reflectors will be tomorrow (the one in the picture was just a trial to get the “feel” for it) and it will be in machine vice with parallel prisms for height adjustment and 60 degree angle holding piece (i will post pics of it) and the rest of the body will be finished on CNC milling machine…

I wish I was there to watch this being made. I love the styling so far.

I like that partly triangular head shape. It is more compact than leaving it round and it won’t roll off the table. It is also looking very neat.
Am I right that you used a mill, rather than the lathe with a four jaw chuck to make the offset round cuts for the reflectors?

Is the retainer milled as a separate piece or cut from the milled head?

hi, i am actually using home made CNC milling machine…

hi, the retainer is milled from separate piece because it has to have more material than walls of the body because it has to hold the glass, here are pics

what a beautiful light
Simply orsm. Unique and built on a home made nc machine to boot.
Pictures are all working now for me as well.

I get it now, looks great. Amazing you two have done machining those small reflectors.

Absolutely amazing craftsmanship!

the real challenge in this project was the combination of 3 reflectors and triple noctigon: it was harder to make this combination to work without short circuiting than the machining of the entire flashlight body… the 4 jumpers that are soldered in order to make the noctigon to be parallel current are simply too thick and the position of the soldering points of + and – cables are very close to LED’s…i solved the jumpers by simply milling them to reduce the height but the cables position was much harder resolve…pics are coming up…
