Shows high capacity for the batteries with the missing line . But i guess it is because it is in charge mode

To be clear, the picture I posted came from This Post by Mitko in another thread.

I was using it as an example of the “missing line”. Smile

Since that pic keeps coming up, I sure would appreciate it if somebody would give me a shout out on how to work and read that charger! I’ve had one for a long time, virtually never use it. Mine seems to stop the charge at some 4.17V, I NEED those extra 3 hundredths of a Volt! Smile

As far as reading internal resistance and checking capacity, I really don’t know how it works.

Got one last week .

When i mentioned the exact same line ( Mine seems to stop the charge at some 4.17V, I NEED those extra 3 hundredths of a Volt! ) to some people in another forum they thought i’m crazy Silly Mine stops too at 4.17V .

Here are some words from HKJ’s review , i hope they help a little :

When display is flashing it is possible to select mode and current.
Using the slot button it is possible to reselect a slot and change parameters for it, also when charger is working.
When putting multiple batteries in the charger at the same time, it is possible to select mode and current simultaneous for all of them (Very nice).

When charging or discharging it is possible to use the DISPLAY button to select between V, mA and mAh.
The display button can also be used when the charge/discharge is finished, but the charger will change back to “full” display rather quickly.

Are the “the fake ones” suitable for high drain flashlights?

Honestly, I don't like much the way the Opus-C3100 works: PWM charge current, PWM over its load current beyond the power supply's rating, fan, etc.

At times, I've thought how “easy” would be to attach inexpensive CC/CV modules to slider trays, mounting them with volt and amp meters (DIY crowd, of course). With knob attached external potentiometers, that would really be a li-ion/LiFePO4 “dreamcharger”. These modules are easy to buy for less than $2 a pop. Examples:

I got 2 of the Opus chargers - one charges low, the other charges to bout 4.23V if you let it go til the end, just what I likesmile. So, I use the high charge one all the time - it's my main charger. I think I did the mode on this one to raise the charge limit.

But.... I also got the SKYRC - wow! You actually set the charge limit voltage. Now I can control that limit - no more worries bout charging hi or low. Plus it beeps when a cell finishes charging! Plus a whole lot more features. It's pricey, but the best around. I've wasted probably more money on chargers than what this one costs.

The way the opus works on the charge test mode. The capacity it shows is the discharge mah. When krs charging it says charging when the cell is full it goes to discharge. Once discharged the final mah shows up like in the picture above. Then the charger says charge again because its recharging the cell again. But the final capacity from the discharge will stay up it won’t change even when done charging until the cell is removed this is how it works. I got the very similar 5300-5400 on all 4 of mine first batch cells. I guess I can run another test on them. They have some cycles on them now maybe 40-50 two married sets.

IIRC The Opus BT-C3100 has an end voltage selector on it’s PCB to accommodate different chemistry, but you have to open it to get access.

@ patmurrris,

The Opus BT-C3100 can be opened to change from 4.2v to 4.35V or 3.6V on a small 3 position slider switch inside.

Beware however, as I ended up damaging the mini fan when I removed the back cover, as the Fan was partly glued in place (on Version 2.0), to be as quiet as possible. Howled once refitted!

I bought a new fan, now much quieter, and drilled a small slot (tip from another Member) in the bottom cover, so I can now change the setting, without any further dismantling being needed.

Hope This Helps,

Cheers,

Strange why they do not make the plus pole protrude a little bit over the plastic making them able to be used in series without soldering or magnet.

Why is that strange ?
Just there are flat top and button top batteries, this ones are flat top, if you need to connect in series buy a button top, or use a magnet, and you do not need to solder it, I do not see why you need to solder it, just put it and magnet will stand firmly, when you don’t need it, just remove…

There is no button top version of that battery or it is incredible difficult to find. Magnets have high resistance and can slip causing short circuit.

We have talked about this in another thread, can’t remember which one; but some of the LiitoKala 26650’s will work in series. The flat top is tall enough to make it happen. No rhyme or reason to it though?? Facepalm I have 18 of them and roughly half of those will work in series. A couple of other guys reported similar results.

Yep, there is no button top, they do not produce it so if you want a button top go with Keeppower, Efest, Enerpower…
Magnet can slip ? Hmm, I think this is not possible or you have some bad magnets.
If you do not like magnets, apply a solder blob on the + end.

Possible, since there is Sanyo GA that it flat top, but + end is enought protruding that can be connected in series.
I wan’t to buy them, since I using KP and they are too expensive and I don’t have more money to buy KP again. I will order from the link that I provided that ‘‘new’‘ LK dark-gold, and I hope that they are genuine.

Yeah, but the GA’s are made that way by design.

With the LiitoKala’s is is just hit or miss… certainly not designed to work in series. Let us know how the “new” ones perform.

Ok from that point I can assume that there are many liito kala 26650 versions, some genuine some not.
Look at this, according to website http://www.liito-kala.com/ ( I don’t know is this theirs official website ), official Ali store is :
https://liitokala.aliexpress.com/store/133859

But when you look at 26650 offer you can find only one type of a battery :

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Liitokala-2PCS-26650-rechargeab...

And it is completely different from other LK batteries that you can find on Ali, GB, BG etc.

They have also Lii-500 with adapter for only $17.76 and free shipping.

Hmm all of this is very very strange I will contact them and ask for other betteries and link to tell me are they genuine or not.

This your link http://www.liitokala.com.cn are this store :

https://liitokalahongkong.aliexpress.com/store/217753?spm=2114.12010108....

Since their email contact is the same liitokala@126.com, and they have same things on the web and Ali store.

Hmm, this store is old 4 years, and other two are 3 and 2 years, so I guess that first come genuine then other fake or whatever stores.

OK, I contact them on :

emily@liito-kala.com
and
liitokala@126.com

First mail and website / store : http://www.liito-kala.com/ / https://liitokala.aliexpress.com/store/133859

No response at all.

Second liitokala@126.com I get very unprofessional answer which you can look here :

And I accidentally find this :

So GB are saying that there is a new version of liito kala 26650 cells that this stores confirms it :

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/2PCS-LiitoKala-26650-50A-5000ma...

And since they are 4 years old ( most of all others ), there is confirmation of new version of cells from GB, I get answer from them, I suppose that they are genuine store.

Thanks for the investigation, vidramon.

Definitively the LiitoKala brand is doing their stuff right. For whatever reason they've changed their 5000mAh cell provider, and this results in a completely new wrap with a clear “this is a different cell” insight.

Now, let's wait for HKJ to review 'em LoL. If any of you gives him notice say so please. Wink

Cheers

I order this new version and when it arrive I can test a capacity of cells, for much more complex test we must wait and ask HKJ.

Also there is some chargers that I see on the store and can’t find on HKJ tests, so it will be good if HKJ can provide a test for it.

I bought from 10× 26650 “old ones” from here (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10PCS-LiitoKala-26650-50A-5000mah-26650-...) and tested them with lii-500, they seem to be legit.

Oh and the price was quite reasonable 34.88usd for the whole lot with free shipping.
