is the P2 3B the highest bin for this led in 5000k?

Yes P2 is currently the highest.

Who are you asking? This is not a GB thread, it’s about the 70.2.

Ya, its ok my fault, I had several tabs open and by accident posted on the wrong one. Facepalm Thanks for point it out!

(Was suppose to be in the GB thread for HaikeLite MT03 II Devourer Triple XHP70.2, had this thread open to read about 70.2)

I have several xhp70.2 and some xhp50.2 LED’s coming in thanks to Lumintop.

I plan to put one of each on the sphere to get some comparison numbers. Then going to see what they look like in the GT….

The old xhp70 already looks pretty good even at a mere ~3000 lumens except for a bad dark spot. Still it does over 1000m of throw.

Gonna try bumping the power up to 2x or higher and see what happens as well.

Will there be any real world difference using a 70.2 in my L6 that I could notice?  and is it possible to just buy a 70.2 on a star and just solder it on after removing the 70?

It depends on the total package. On a stock reflector and stock driver you won’t see much difference.

Sure. Since your in Canada you might try Mountain Electronics.

I have few L6's and one has the smooth reflector.  What do you think would be the difference that I could notice?

With a smooth reflector you will get a smother hotspot. The xhp70 has more of a dark center or donut hole pattern.

These low exposure shots show the difference well.

Wow, the difference is very visible to the eye, thanks for those shots.  I'm going to get one and change  the L6 with the smooth reflector.  That link from mountain electronics doesn't show a star with the 70.2 attached.  Is there anywhere else I can get one complete that you know of?

To be fair, here are the same pics at normal exposure. It’s not a big difference, but it’s noticable.

(Ignore the differences in brightness and color as these are auto camera settings and where taken on different days)

Ignore the pictures. Choose the 6 volt 20mm star from the options.

Still very noticeable with your new pictures, I really like the look of the light.  Thanks, for the link too.

I’m having some “problems” with this XHP70.2 P2 3B from Kaidomain

http://www.kaidomain.com/p/S026863.Cree-XHP70_2-P2-3B-Neutral-White-5000K-LED-Emitter

I used it in my CW Acebeam L30 because I wanted a neutral white tint, however it loses more than 400lm with the change (From 3650lm to 3240lm)

I think it’s an error and this led isn’t a P2 bin, it’s older.

According to CREE: P2 bin is only available in 5700k and 4000k. That would explain why my Stock Acebeam K30 5000k is warmer than the 5000k led from Kaidomain

I ordered This

Hope it’s legit. I haven’t tested it yet. But maybe I’ll await the new driver from Texas ace before I start tearing open my BLF GT..

It should be legit, although the picture looks to be of a cooler tint then 4000k but they could just be reusing another picture.

I tested the first prototype driver Saturday, should be testing some more over the next few days.
