Hello gentlemen
I received some new lights from haikelite for review last week. I was offered a big discounted price to compensate the time i spent on photograph and test .
left to right
SC01 , SC02 , MT01 (new with white metal switch) , MT02
I start from SC02 MTG2, the big yellow emitter is really good-looking and of a nice beam tint.
I got two , one black and one silver white

Packing is a plastic case with HaikeLite logo. The SC02 case is a bit thin and looks fragile , it is not as strong as the case of MT01. I dount it can protect the light well when you drop it accidentally.
All items inside: light , hand rope , USB cable , Waterproof rings, no manual.
Grab the light in my small hand
The white one
Flashlight Length 134mm
Head diameter 45.5mm
Body diameter 30mm~34mm
Tail diameter 38mm
Net weight w/o battery (kind of heavy for a single 26650 light , the body is bloody thick, you can see it in tear-down pictures below)
Now lets check the eye-catchy MTG2 emitter
Chinese flash-lovers call MTG2 as “giant soya bean”.
the emitter gasket is round, not square, i can see some marks on the emitter pcb from the front. Not a big deal for me.
Anti-reflective coating glass lens looks cool in sunlight
Anodized aluminum button switch. At first sight i though its a SS switch. The switch is made of aluminum alloy with anodization.
It looks pretty and solid. Operation is much much better than the rubber switch on old MT01.
body finish and hand sling hole ; look closely , the anodizing is very well. Knurling is not too deep, but the anodizing feels “not slippy at all” even in a sweating hand.
nice hole , no sharp edges
The light can charge the battery directly, the charing port is designed inside the body. As you can see , a usb hole goes through the threads
Red light =in charging ; Green light= fully charged. It takes 4-5 hrs to charge empty to full. I left my home when charging. When i am back after 5 hours, The light already turned to green. Precise time will be measured later.
Tear-down
The light is made up of three parts. Head - body - tailcap
Take the head ring apart ; The head ring is made of aluminum alloy. Head ring is thick , but why not use a SS ring.
Glow material O ring and AR lens
take off the reflector, It is a OP aluminum reflector… On the front edge there is a slopes around the reflector . What is this designed for? I do not get it.
Reflector dimension 37.5mm OD x 22.5mm height
PCB marks “haikelite DTP” . Two screws fix the PCB onto the emitter desk. The soldering is neat and clean.
- wires ; PCB are well greased.
Thick springs
The boost driver
The body part , please notice how thick the body edge is
Body inner diamiter 26.5mm , So thicker OD 26650s may fit it well.
USB charging port in the threads. Look at the square thick threads, really nice
USB charging plate
Tail part and thick negative springs . Looks like silver coating
spent 2 nights to do outdoor flashlight beam photos
The beam covers a wide area , it is a good flood light for walking at night. and the MTG beam color is very nice.
Camera setting: IOS200 F3.5 1/40S (the setting makes the light close to the real beam from eyes)
1.5meter from wall
super low level-10lumens

Runtime test
The 2000 lumen mode
Room temprature 29℃,without cooling,5000mAh unprotected 26650,Voltage 4.19V
putting the light into box , 1 meter distance from the luxmeter, Recording the date every 6 seconds, 10 sets of recording date in 1 minute , Total 927 sets of date, Then i get the full illumination curve.
Below is my self-made box device
Due to thermal control brightness drop , Brightness drops in 2 stages , at 25 minutes the brightness drops to 1000 lumens, and 1000lumens last to the end. Light shut down at 3V.
Turbo mode (2000lumens~1000 Lumens) last 93 minutes.
Temperature (no cooling): The light gets hot very quick , not a bad thing considering the good heat-transfer. But it will be hard to hold after 10 minutes.
At 10 minutes, the temperature rises up to 60.9 degrees Celsius.
At 20 minutes the temperature rise up to 74.7 degrees Celsius
Waterproof test ,more Runtime test
to be continued …
