SFN55.2, SFQ55, SFN60, SFQ60, SFS80 and SFH55 LED info

It’s best to test with a power supply the threshold of any LED. Had a surprise with CULPM1.TG from Yinding. Angry blue at 8 Amps, toned it down to about 6 ½ A.

Yeah, I thought I didn’t even push it hard with 8A. That is what Kaidomain’s specs said it should withstand. Seems like at least the 4000K version doesn’t.

Bummer to burn out a led. But this adds to the mystery of why some of my Yindings work at 8 A while others are screaming in pain. Poor QC?

thanks for info guys. i will be careful reflowing. i had major issues with (2) xpl-hi 2850k while reflowing recently, that one seems fragile, more so than any other xpl-hi I've reflowed, unless it was a bad batch (bought a couple months ago from Hank).

-> major issues where the top layer delaminating from the base. never saw that before, i didn't heat up hotplate anymore than normal. It sucked. The white base seemed weak and chipped too.

I wouldnt try putting 8amps through a 3535 led anyway, unless i knew it was capable, but since i know nothing about the P35 i will keep it around 6a, thanks for that info!

Think im gong to try it in a m21c, 6amp driver

Apologies Dave1010, didn't even notice it said (sfs80) in the P35 description...

Astrolux now have the FT03 Mini with SFS80

For comparison, specs for the same host, from throwy LED to floody LED:

  • W1 510 lm and 860m throw
  • SFS80 1620 lm and 720m throw
  • SST40 2300 lm and 583m throw
  • XHP50.2 4200 lm and 452m throw

Would be interesting to see how it compares to an Osram W2/Boost HX, CREE XHP35 and Luminus SFT40/SFT70.

Got this in from Neal, no doc on it. XHP70.2, MT-G2, and the BIG LED, SFH55:

16 LED's in one?

Same dims but the dye surface sure looks tiny on that SBT90.2:

So from that previous list of LED's, which one could it possibly be? Only one possible, the SFH55

Link to list again: http://tiebapic.baidu.com/forum/pic/item/aebad3ca7bcb0a466cff57807c63f6246a60af70.jpg

It's truly a 3 volt LED. Just lit it up under 3V with about 1 amp max on a bench PS, but was unmounted so didn't want to crank it up.

I measure roughly 36mm². That list seems to have a bunch of inaccurate LES measurements.

I have to go to bed, so truth be known, it's the SFH55, really the only thing it could be from that list.

Plan is it to mount it in a WT90, should be an easy swap, and with 3 30T's powering it, should be able to get some decent output out of it. Also can compare the throw with a SBT90.2 driven hard.

I couldn’t find any listing for SFH55 on Taobao but this Led looks very similar to yours:

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0d.6639537.1997196601.42.4fc27484J90mD3&id=631714912162

The package is 7070 though and it’s 24V.

That’s the first time I’ve heard of someone swapping out a SBT90.2 for a more powerful LED!

Looks like it should still throw further than an XHP70.2 and hopefully give much more output.

9100-14200 lumens!

Interesting…but I so wish it came in better CRI…

Looks like the Pioneman K80 (maybe made by Conway) has a SFH55 option:

On Taobao, Pioneman sells it with a 26800 or 26980 tube. They don’t sell 26800 batteries but they sell a 26980 with a claimed 40-60A continuous discharge, 90A max discharge, and 6000 mAh…. should I?

Sorry, have been super busy.

Really great flashlight imo. The only complaints I have would be an additional low mode, and the color temp is pretty cool. Oddly seems to look very white on the target, but out on the water the mist between the light and the target has a slight purple tinge. If the light was 5000k it would be my most used flashlight.

Can’t find any sfs nor sfn led for sale, too bad

Actually I got the Valkyrie w/SFN55.2 in, along with the SFH55 LED mentioned above. I'll post a teardown review on the light. So far I like the beam also, the numbers I measured did slightly better than Nick's review here, but in the ballpark. I have the NI04 Nightstalker already with a SBT90.2, so should do some comparisons. The lights are just about the same, except the Valkyrie has an OP reflector, the NI04 has SMO. Looked at swapping in the SMO, but its height is less and has a bigger hole so may need some tweaking.

The good thing I noticed is there's no price increase when choosing the SFH55 or SST-40 so cost is probably low on this, unless it's not a real listing - they don't have it yet, who knows.

I can buy it in China

I don't understand - buy what? The LED, the light? Why can't we all buy the light? It's on Ali.
