[2025-02-07] Forum engine update applied [2025-02-09 Update: **iPad glitches fixed**]

Hi there, today I updated to the latest stable version of the forum engine to apply some security patches, but to get those it also required updating to a new release version with some new features and changes.

For the time being I had to disable the custom modification that shows the participant names in the PM list. I’ll try to re-implement it as time and technical factors permit.

Also I need to figure out a CSS solution to move these elements down the way they were before. Suggestions from CSS gurus are welcome.

There is a nice new feature in this forum version that allows creating multiple drafts of new threads and/or replies. This is a feature that @Bort and @Hoop and probably others have asked about. Also remember that your draft posts are synchronized between all of your devices and browsers where you are logged in to BLF, so you can start a post on one device and finish it on another. You can switch between different drafts here:

Thanks to everyone for being here! Have fun.

I was a bit worried about AI taking over the layout of the screen. Glad it was you :joy:

Yeah, I was wondering what the heck happened until I read this thread.
I thought, “Who broke the internet this time?” even though “breaking the internet” isn’t the right terminology. :slightly_smiling_face:

yuck!
now all the topic titles are Red!

Wow, that’s pretty bad.
I’m using TK’s Dark Theme, and the topic titles are light blue (if new) and purple (if old), which is way better than red/orange. :man_shrugging:

Solved with user specified link colors (and blocking cluttered design elements for forum name and username):

Looks good in the regular BLF theme. Phone version seems to be unchanged, desktop version slightly different, but not better or worse for me. I’m stoked about the new features, those are cool!

EDIT: Now it randomly turned orange :<

Sorry, that was me.

Thanks for catching that, I found a way to revert it.

It’s white now. Looks solid. I kinda preferred the blue, but that’s just my preference. No longer retina-burning orange is important

Hi there! Sorry, which element are you referring to?

All the thread titles, pretty much everything that turned orange before is now white for me:

Interesting, there appears to be a rendering difference between Firefox and Chromium-based browsers. I’ll look into it.

that works! Thank you very much

I’ve noticed with the forum engine update, when I click on threads with new posts, I usually have to scroll up a little bit to see the entirety of the new post.
I’m using TK’s Dark Theme and Google Chrome.
(My problem might be because of Stylus modifications that I use on BLF.) :man_shrugging:

Hmm, is there? I just tested in Edge and it looks the same as it does in FF for me (all earlier screenshots were FF 135.0).

Yep, I had to define a few styles redundantly as a workaround.

Looks great to me now on Firefox. The title of threads stands out much better. Well done sb.

I’m having a Safari on iPad issue. I can’t scroll down to the reply button after typing a message.

If I tip the iPad to make more room for the on screen keypad, I lose the message until I press Reply again. I’ll see if I can screenshot it here.

So, had to hit reply 3 times to post this with iPad in portrait mode to expose the Reply button. Each time I add a pic, my message box disappears. Wasn’t doing this yesterday.

On my 8" tablet, the layout is so much better, making it easier to find and read topics of interest! Thank you for the improvements!!!

Hmm, thanks Rich for reporting this. Any other iPad users having this issue?
@RichH could you please try enabling the mobile layout mode?
