[2025-02-07] Forum engine update applied [2025-02-09 Update: **iPad glitches fixed**]

It could be that they are reversed now. The thing is, when I applied the color override yesterday to return to the pre-update colors I checked the BLF Theme dark mode and it felt backwards to me (gray = unread, white = viewed). So the way it’s set now felt more intuitive to me in both light and dark modes. But I’m also a bad judge of that because I personally hate dark modes and never use them. (Flashlight afficionados using dark interfaces… somebody explain that one to me. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: ) So I still have other options to tweak the colors if the majority thing it’s necessary.

Do you mean actually having trouble seeing them due to contrast issues, or trouble recognizing which is which?

Contrast is fine and the colors are easily distinguishable. It’s just that my brain thinks the colors (for the light theme) should be swapped. And I don’t know if it behaves that way because they were swapped previously.

Just tried swapping them and it doesn’t feel “natural” either. Does anyone have a screenshot of the old version?

It looks like this is due to a long category name. I can probably find a CSS fix for that.

Thanks. So unread topics were blue and visited topics were gray. Now it is dark blue and light blue instead.

Yep. I don’t know what the dark theme looked like before, I always forget to check it.

I just found out that “nevermind” is misspelled.
I was texting someone and autocorrect wouldn’t let me spell it that way (without a struggle.)
I think I’ll continue to spell it wrong because of that iconic Nirvana album. :notes:
Also, I’m going to see if I can disable autocorrect on my phone.
It seems to cause more problems than it solves. :upside_down_face:

Seems to be sorted Sb, the reply button is accessible.

Pic posting to check if it closes the message box

Ok…selecting the pic from the iPad photo album didn’t delete my post, but it disappeared as it did before. Hitting Reply for a second time then reinstated my post and then Reply at the bottom publishes my post.

In Firefox on Android I noticed that the editor doesn’t extend to full-screen anymore.

I’m guessing I’m the only one with this problem because no one else has brought it up.
It’s not a serious problem, and if it’s because of my Stylus modifications, there’s little point in trying to fix the problem.

You are right about that, sometimes you need to scroll a little bit, otherwise the system it shows again as unreaden… !

Also in the front page, the readen and unreaden threads should a different color the one from the other… !?

2 Thanks

Yeah please bring back the blue colour for new posts, it was much better/easier to discern.

When uploading a 798KB sized image (O-L comp group photo) the forum is saying the image is larger than 1MB and does not allow the upload.

Back to not being able to hit reply, and if I tap to get the on-screen keypad out of the way the post disappears. Hitting reply again brings it back, inserting an emoji and it goes again until I hit reply.

Only way round it is to use the Bluetooth keypad case, or the very tip of a stylus to catch the top of the blue box.

@Leif Could you please give it another try?
@RichH Would you mind creating a temporary account on https://try.discourse.org (the site gets deleted and reset nightly) and test with the “Fully” theme?

I would also appreciate testing reports from any other iPad users out there.

Do you have this button?

Hmm, I’m not sure what to say about that. This image was 1.1MB before uploading.

Any difference if you strip the metadata with exiftool or similar? That’s one thing I did to the image: exiftool -overwrite_original -all= * -TagsFromFile @ -ColorSpaceTags

The image is a .jpg file created in KolourPaint. (Flatpak)

Another thing: I am editing an existing reply, not creating a new one.

Edit: that makes no difference actually.

I’ll try some other things.

Sorry I can’t be of more help. It would seem like maybe the image you’re trying to upload somehow got corrupted, because the forum software automatically converts it to create a smaller file size, and if it were corrupted then it couldn’t convert it.
