My personal choise would be XHP70.3 R70 4000K.
5000K is also very nice.
There are also high CRI options.
This flashlight is shipped with 26800 extention tube so you could choose a battery size you want. I would go for 26650 vapcell 7000 mAh coz 26800 has no capacity advantage.
And you can pick the beam profile you want. Flashlight is shipped with 12 degrees lens but you can ask Simon to replace the optic with 3, 8, 24 or 36 deg one or just buy additional lenses to compare them personally.
Does the M26D charge from Usb-c to c? My M3-C doesn’t and I find this very annoying!
M26D and M3C share the same driver.

Simon should really update this driver. Those lights are great, but usb-a only is outdated and shouldn’t be sold anymore. In case of the M3-C it isn’t even mentioned on the lights site ( or at least wasn’t as I bought it).

I still don’t get c-to-c charging.
Let’s say I got light A which is running low, and light B which still has some oomf, and want to use light A. So I c-to-c both of them.
How does each light know whether to take or give? At least if output is A, you know it’s an output and not input.
With C, who knows?
Port controllers can be configured as source only, sink only, prefer source, prefer sink, and neutral. If two identically set up devices are connected, it is random I think.
A well designed device is prefer source >e.g. 50%, then transitions over neutral, try sink, to sink only as the battery gets more empty, so in the end the fuller device will charge the less full one.
Why does it have to be 26650?
That is a dying size, not many flashlights have them these days.

Yep, I agree.
I much prefer 1x21700 flashlights.
Inexpensive 21700 cells provide more power per volume than inexpensive 26650 cells.
That said, if I wanted a 26650 flashlight, I’d probably go with a Convoy because that’s my favorite brand.

I have USB-C chargers everywhere. On trips i take a usb-c charger. same with cables, Usb-c-to-c only.
Its not about one light charging another, its about using one charger for everything. And USB-A simply can’t hold up with the needs of modern devices.
