3 volt XHP50.2

Oh that totally blows blues!

I wonder if heat softened the bond so it was easy to lift the dome off.
How was the 50.2 in the D1 otherwise, did it focus alright? And did it still ramp ok?
Btw, the url link to your photo is immense! I don’t remember seeing anything like it.

The 50.2 focus correctly in the D1, and produces a fat hotspot (with a greenish corona of course).
I measured 30kCd on Turbo, and lumens should be in the 4000 range.
No problemwith modes, UI, ramping…everything works fine (well, the XHP50.2 is 4 XP-G3 in parallel so no surprise)

About the pics url, they’re from google photos… I agree that they are reaaallly long

I was thinking of doing the same to my D1 just not sure i trust myself with the manual heat management. Only takes one lapse of concentration :smiley:

Is it safe to use a fully charged 30q in a fet (LD-A4 driver on fet mode) with whatever springs Simon sells and a 20awg bypass?

I’ll probably use it at 12A since it’s only 25% more lumens at 20A but unleashing full power may be tempting.

I’ve had a 40t on a fet driver sending it’s full wrath through one of these 3v emitters.

Not even starting to turn blue.

If a 21700 50t can not kill the LED, than it is safe for all 18650s.

Lumintop GT Mini, XHP 50.2 3v , great shot . The driver pulls 6.8 amps .

That seems really low for this LED… You should pull at least 12 Amps.
My D1 paeaked at 19A with this LED

What about four VTC6 powering three of these via FET? I'll find out for us, my XHP50.2 cleared customs.

Yes, my Supfire M6. There's a chance I fried the TA Fet+7135 (I forget how many) driver from Lexel the last time I was working on it, so we'll see how long this takes. I also have Blue springs to add, and 18 gauge wire.

I already got 3 in one light - the Amutorch X9 - I've posted bout it earlier - 32 amps measured on a GOLISI.

The GOLISI 4300 26650 is one of the best cells for this setup.

Need to grow a pair… how about FETDD 18awg leads with 3xVTC5A’s against the 3v 50.2 in a Courui? :open_mouth:

Hhmm, the Courui would be awesome for this LED! I got 2 of them sit'n round.

My M6 does 8,000 with LG HE4’s, not fully charged, 30Q’s it doesn’t want to handle on the driver I have in it.

My Q8 does 13,300 with the 30Q’s. Both of these with the 3V 50.2.

These numbers are on the newly rebuilt diffused and calibrated light box

3:1 beats my 4:3 ratio, and my best cells are VTC6s... I can't part with the extra capacity...

I have been waiting for the boosthx release to transplant into my modded courui, but we may have a winner here. It already has a FET DD driver and a big copper heat sink etc.
