If the price is maintained and not just a launch promotion, that looks like a interesting alternative to the Wowtac brand that it’s often recommended to newcomers to the 18650 format.

You lost me at 3000k. I loved the look, I loved the mode separation and the nice moonlight mode. I loved the tail clicky. I normally like Nichia emitters so I figured I would like this one. Then you hit me over the head with 3000k. Damn, I really wanted to like that light.

Hi Folomov, what it takes to get me the 900lm beacon instead of 50lm? I always like to use full power 0,25Hz beacon for base camp signaling. Please confirm, how long before the highest mode steps down?

Thing is, I kinda want/need a deep-carry clip, as I’m not a fan of having lights “ride high” in my pocket. The MH20 (105mm) sinks down nice’n’low, hardly anything visible from the outside. :smiley:

I’m not a fan of low→high→low, so would probably just keep it in “tactical” mode. I really like momentary-on lights, especially if hella bright!

I got the D4, which is a downright beautiful light, hardware-wise. Perfect design, flawless ano, great thermal path, everything absolutely beautiful, but I gotta confess, the UI kinda grates on me. I’m not a fan of high→low (but could probably live with it), but strobes in the main sequence is a hard poke in the eye every time I hit it to cycle through modes.

If I could only change the UI (low→high, especially no strobes), it’d be a perfect EDC light.

At the risk of thread drift, how do you figure the Emisar D4 has strobes in the main sequence? 8 clicks to get to a beacon, and it doesn’t even have a strobe to be found. Unless you installed Anduril, even then you have to try hard to find them. And as far as high to low, that’s not right either. At least not what my D4 has.

I dont like blinky modes in the main sequence. Also dont like click and hold to turn off or off.

What functions means “multi-”? I not quite understand.

FT has a nice deep-carry clip (<2bux) in an equally-nice matte black, which should go well with this light.

Especially with a short light, I don’t want almost half of it “riding high” with a standard clip, so for me at least, a deep-carry clip is a must.
