I suggested him a few LEDs with different color temperatures.
He asked Fenix in China and they said yes!
SO HERE ARE THE SPECS:
-It will come with a SFT-42R in 6500K instead of the SFT-40 in 6500K (that’s fix by Fenix). -It will come in THIS BLUE -It will have individual serial numbers and the lettering “TLF/BLF EDITION 2026”. -The Bezel will be black. -The price will be 99,90€. -It will give a totally special run of 200 pieces!
-WE HAVE TO GIVE HIM A BINDING COMMITMENT IN ADVANCE FOR 100 PIECES AT ALL! Without that the special run won’t be produced.
-The flashlights will be able to buy at www.fenix.de (that’s the website of Mr. Auler).
So guys…who would be in the project?
We need 100 flashlights to have the project safe!
This is the chance to work with Mr. Auler in future also together for othwr models from Fenix!
We can talk later about another color, but it has to be from the Fenix production line!
Nichtmal, ich finde den Preis fĂĽr "Budget"lightforum einfach zu hoch
For the same amount I can get 3-5 good Convoy lamps.
I know that this one here has some special features, but I don’t need them and therefore don’t want to pay for them.
Is there a MOC? Because only Europe cuts the amount quite a bit.
Personally, (PERSONALLY), I would expect such a collaboration to be commemorative of something…like a forum anniversary, a founder’s birthday, a celebration of bridging the forums, and thus would have something representative of that…the freeman driver, TK’s Anduril 2, Hank’s expertise in production, Loneoceans, Gchart, that kind of thing…the D3aa, in my opinion, is a recent example of a masterclass in collaboration.
Maybe it’s just a cultural difference and I’m just a spoiled fat Murican…
I had really a little bit of problems to find a good flashlight from Fenix for this project.
I tried to stay under 100€ with my solution.
I tried to suggest Fenix a actual and quite loved LED.
I tried to find a model with good features…this Fenix has 1 Lumens Moon and the Strobe can be deactivated, at all you can have 5 different light modi.
I tried to find a good color from the Fenix line ups.
I could choose the LD45R, the LD36R, the PD40R V3.0…really great models, but all are over the 100€-marking.
6500K
Sorry , I can not support that. I generally won’t buy any light over 5000K but I’d make an exception for a TLF/BLF model with SFT42R 5700K Hi Cri.
Not only is the price out of my budget, the choice of LED is also not convincing. I don’t think Fenix is a suitable partner for such a special edition flashlight.
Wait. How many “TFL/BFL” lights are you planning now?
In the other threats you were facilitating Sofirn/Wurkkos/Convoy/Hank. And you even suggested more than one light from them in 2026.
Now Fenix. What else?
Frankly speaking I lost all interest in “TLF/BLF 2026” light — because there will be more than one = not so special. On top of that, all of the models discussed so far are not exactly unique except for that TFL/BLF etching.
Fenix are expensive to begin with not Convoy, Sofirn or Wurkkos, Lumimtop, so a special edition of limited-run light wouldn’t do you any favors for cost. Youbneed to take it for what it is…an expensive light made more expensive as a special edition.
I saw a video on a different Fenix light and was wondering why they weren’t more popular here. Everyone has a different definition of budget but some of the lights I’ve seen praised here don’t fit my definition of budget, especially when my needs are considered.
The light in the video I saw got me interested enough to think of buying 1, it’s got more output than any flashlight I own, a UI that is both flexible and simple and it comes in orange. But it doesn’t do anything I need that my existing lights don’t do so I didn’t buy it.
Fenix are really popular with people who hard-use their lights like mechanics, or first responders, technicians etc. Fenix has quality control and excellent customer support, which costs extra. Their lights are also fully tested and lab certified for IP ratings, LVP, etc. That costs extra. I’ve nwver had an issue with any of the near 2 dozen fenix lights ive tested and some I use regularly. My E-lite has gone through the wash and dryer, with the USB C port open (cover popped open) and works perfectly. I doubt a Lumintop, Sofirn, Wurkkos or lower-cost brand would have survived. So, for people who need that reliability and quality they’ll pay extra for it.
My first good flashlight was a Fenix and I never had a problem with it. It was amazing after using a mini Maglite, but after a while I wanted more than the 165 lumens it could produce.
It’s in my go bag with some batteries after outlasting several other lights I used while bike commuting.
I much prefer the older stylizations and rugged feel of the original fenix lights…everything these days wants to go rounder, smoother, less machining costs, under the guise of “snagless”…I want to say it started with surefire “eb” series, but I could be wrong.
But it should absolutely be cheaper, when two of the most prominent flashlight forums are granting the license to use their names. Unless they are granting several of such licenses the same year, as it won’t be as rare and valuable of the privilege, any longer. This — unfortunately — seems to be the case in 2026.
