ambient light on the ceiling

i’d like to pick a soda can light to shine at the ceiling
or a couple to hang in closets and such
else i could get an actual lamp, but probably not. maybe if you know any with adjustable tint and that can be carried with battery.
else maybe a flashlight with adjustable tint, or even adjustable throw/flood.

I guess i would want usb-c charging
here’s a list of some items i’ve found

thrunite tc20 PRO (pro and v2 have usb-c; 3294 lumens max; $65.95 now)

sofirn sp36 (Pro maybe) (some various versions, multiple options for tint; pro is 8000 lumens max; cost $57.99 w/ batteries now)

sofirn q8 (pro?) (some various versions, 11000 lumens max at least i checked the Pro; cost $84.99 w/ batteries now)

convoy 4x18a options 6500K 5000K 4000K 3000K R70 CRI 6500K 5000K 4000K 3000K R9050 CRI without battery price: $58.44 smooth or crumpled reflector

or 3x21a (couple emitter and battery options:: SST40-6500k,SFT40-6500k,SST40-5000k; liitokala LII50E, EVE 50E, Molicel P42A) (max 6800LM(SST40)/5400LM(SFT40)) (options cost between $74.01 and $86.91 w/ batteries)

i suppose mostly sustainable medium(?) output is the main factor, and able to stand up as soda can
also the interface, battery and emitter types, tint,
charging port, size, button, throw/flood and lumens

not sure what else. floody is probably good. pric(ier): Acebeam x80-gt, Olight Marauda 2

i have an LT1 lamp and LT1s. LT1s feels like junk and overheats and drains battery quick.
LT1 is a tank.
also got a BLF a6 and if25a

what would be best to set on a table and such?
i listed about 4 soda cans
and 2 higher end ones i will consider
any of them would hopefully be suitable

at least the LT1 has adjustable tint and Anduril
but i’d consider whether to go for more throw/flood, or maybe get one that does both or get two separate lights

also anyone have advice on the deals?
Aliexpress or a couple other shops, or the buy&sell page
use a few coupons or wait it out, watch for it
there’s a deals page here somewhere and if that’s worth checking so often

i gotta double check what tint to get also maybe
i’m not sure what my LT1 is set to

I have no idea what you are asking.

The only part I understood is that you want a light to shine at the ceiling and to use in a closet.

Wouldn’t any light do that.

You probably just want a lamp. You can get smart bulbs that tint ramp. The flashlight is going to get hot, it won’t be bright for very long. A bulb can run hot all day and you don’t have to worry about recharging the batteries or buying new ones or having them overheat.

As a temporary thing or now and then it’s fine, any of those work. It’s not a good long term solution if you want to light a room.

house lamp or camping lamp?

i was looking for those home lightbulbs
maybe dimmable ones too
i found some with full spectrum but non-tintramp and non-dim…if you recommend any
and i know this isn’t “house lamps forum” but if anyone can point me in the right direction

otherwise here’s where we got great flashlights with all the features i wanted anyways
besides maybe not being able to leave it on for quite as long
30 minutes or so on “medium” might be ok
same with the LT1, or even while charging

mostly i would still wanna pick between these 4, or even the 2 high end ones
I might get a houselamp and bulbs, and also a flashlight
the ambience of it is great
how else can it diffuse that well? flood lamps!! or maybe just a great throw and then diffuses even more just on the ceiling

3800 lumens on the if25a is great
if anything can sustain that a little while, and even tint ramp, or adjust flood/throw like the Acebeam can
i don’t have a way to compare flood/throw besides what i’ve got
i’m guessing the BLF a6 is 5000k, maybe the if25a like 6500k or something
either might be ok
and if it’s just pointed up, might not make a huge difference after it diffuses

so really any of these i mentioned, or the Acebeam might sustain 3000 lumens quite well (for an hour or so)
and a houselamp too (longer term per day)

edit: maybe it’s not the diffusing i’m noticing
maybe it’s just that it’s LED and cooler tint
i might take up your advice on just a lamp, but i might pick out a flashlight too
a houselamp probably won’t do it the same, nor the LT1
not sure if there’s any that can be adjusted inside the ceiling fixture (edit: smart bulbs ftw)
still could just pick a single tint, but i don’t have adjustable dimming either in the ceiling

still leaning towards a flashlight

Way way back, I was getting migraines from being at such an angle that the overhead light was always in my peripheral vision, burning holes in my retinas all the time. So I took a “flowerpot” holder that’s meant to hold a screw-in decorative neon bulb (eg, flower electrodes covered in different-color phosphors to make it light up like a rose, etc.), and just stuck in a halogen MR-whatever type bulb with similar screw base, so it would aim at the ceiling.

Nice soft diffuse full-spectrum light.

They sell silicone flashlight diffusers for a lot of lights. I like empty pill bottles better. Like the ones that multivitamins come in. Pop that over the light, works the same.

maybe a dimmable and tintramping Smart LED bulb for the ceiling
and then the LT1

besides that, how do the flashlights i listed differ?
i gather a bit
q8 and 4x18a comparison (Reddit - Dive into anything)
q8 pro has moonlight mode (Sofirn Q8 Pro Review – Mega lumens for a low price – Grizzly's Reviews)

sp36 more affordable, also more pocketable

x80-gt would be quite a bit
doesn’t have charging port
could consider an x75

how do the beams compare?

Also which ones don’t overheat as fast?
And sustainable medium-level

Q8 has moonlight, maybe sp36 does? Anduril anyways.
Q8 Is brighter.

Or what about the beams

Overall is the x80 not overheat much?
I didn’t realize x75 is actually brighter. It’s higher end model?

4x18a has some choices of emitters and the tint
These are 18650 battery, which is what my others have

How much does a used x80 go for?
saw someone sell one for $220

consider finding a soda can that works with no batteries but plugged in usb. you know? then who cares about run time or regulation. do they exist in soda can form? don’t know

some flashlights don’t even need the battery but will still full function. most is partially functioning tho

I can check whether all my Sofirn ones do or not. The LT1s does.

But the if25a regulates down even when plugged in.
so what are you saying? Some lights won’t overheat or dim down if plugged in?

If the x80 can withstand a good medium-low for a while I should consider it.

Of course a decent desk lamp with adjustable tint bulb might be ok.
But that doesn’t reach far unless it’s on the ceiling.

I’d be stuck with whatever tint I pick in the flashlight.
Whichever one of these you guys recommend
X80 or something might just do everything quite well
But one of the cheaper ones would hopefully be fine
Depending on the comparison
Like interface, moonlight mode, the beam spread, lumens
And if it sustain 2000 lumens

X50 or x80

Does the newest x50 still have the built in battery?

https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/qev6gu/i_bought_an_acebeam_x50_and_then_loved_it_i_set/

Can anyone list a couple shops that might have a decent sale?
Or could check classifieds

Is it high CRI?
The x80gt is only available in 6500k tint?

Which one of these was high CRI? THE 4x18a?

Ahh back to this thread on reddit
The sp36 has high CRI, and I could maybe get 2 different ones for tints
Since the Emisar D18 doesn’t have usb charging.

https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/phf5m4/convoy_4x18a_vs_sofirn_q8_pro_thoughts/

Well… Or maybe swap the emitters in a x80 or some other acebeam
