Thanks @angerdan that did answer my questions and i bought one

Looks like a good option if you need something more durable than an XTAR PB2S and don’t need the extra capacity.

Yeh, my preference is something compact so it’s easy to carry around. Capacity is less of an issue. I expect 21700 should work well for single cell to quick charge.

congrats…
seems like it could also be handy to charge a cell phone

You can find feedback about the H1 on reddit:

thank you for the links

fyi that one link does not work for me, I get:

Works for me. Probably a reddit glitch. Have you tried reloading it?

just tried that, still no good… but, no worries, I trust pinkpanda3310 is getting the info he needs

SOLVED, just need to log out to see that post, as the author has me blocked… no worries

Even if there’s some low battery drain / inefficiencies i think this will suit my purpose. It’s for those long days out and about and the phone needs a quick zap. Smallest possible power bank that can still do QC3.

Small power banks are often slow charge, all they do is stop the phone from going completely flat while plugged in.

thanks for the education… google sez:
" Quick Charge is a proprietary technology that can charge battery-powered devices, primarily mobile phones, at power levels exceeding USB BC 1.2 standard"

do you know if Vapcel 21700 w USB-C Powerbank function for phone is Slow or Quick?

Slow is relative… in many cases 5V3A can be used, which is supported by many small powerbanks too and is 15W vs 18W (9V2A/12V1.5A) QC/PD on H1 can do.

And also capacity here is quite bad, especially considering it only discharges to ~3.25V, charges to ~4.15V, draws all 18W from a single cell (high capacity like F60 will already have lower capacity at such discharge rate) and does not have great efficiency.

May be it is useful for someone, but i honestly fail to see how it would be useful for me, compared to either flashlight with powerbank functionality, larger more capable powerbank, or small, light and flat lipo based powerbank…

totally up to you

what Im hearing is the H1 could recharge my iPhone completely, from a single 21700… that sounds effective to me

I wonder how long it takes?

For example, lets say I go skiing and my phone needs a recharge… I could just plug and go, while recharging down the slopes.

Extremely unlikely. But that depends on specific iphone i guess (if it is SE with 2Ah then yeah), what’s the battery capacity?

Realistically when charging one battery from another you can expect ~60% efficiency with all the conversions, and H1 loses ~10% more on those conservative charging/discharging limits, so you can do the math…

did that… 5000mAh 21700 battery… 3000mAh phone… 60% sounds good

its just a compact, lightweight backup charger for a phone, that can be dropped in a pocket… whats not to like?

Well, for me - size,weight/effective capacity and the fact that it is basically a flashlight shaped object at a price of flashlight with no actual flashlight in it

I mean is it better than any wurkkos light with reverse charging/powerbank functionality? Or something like Anker 321?

But if you like it that’s great, people are different and that’s why different options exist

I have one. Here is the detection result from FNB58
I ended up not using much. It gets too hot on 18W. (I didn’t measure a temperature)
Phone get charged about half a battery from full to empty. (21700 5000 mAh)

3 Thanks

less weight, less bulk
my 21700 powerbank light weighs 155 grams w battery, removing the head saves 44 grams…and creates a smaller package.

thanks for your first hand info
how long did it take to charge your phone halfway, and what size battery does your phone have?

But then why not go with lipo based powerbank? Even less weight (no steel case for the cell) and more comfortable, flat shape…

Though in any case you’ll likely still bring a flashlight, more than compensating for saved weight/bulk…

Thanks to confirming this with first hand experience.

That’s about what i expected…

18W is a bit too much for single 21700, especially charging. Probably would benefit from using something like P45B and then would not heat up so much.

And nowhere near “fully charging” a phone, need 2x21700 for that…
