Brand new Vapcell K10 swelling? Not a good sign
https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/1qkeo3f/vapcell_k10_swelling/
Would be interesting to know the manufacturer of that cell.
Maybe Iām blind but I donāt see the swelling, do they mean the rounded white plastic cover ? itās like that normally likely due to the shape of the button plate underneath.
edit : do they means this dark stuff that appears to be leaking ?
edit: itās indeed what they mean, I didnāt see the pictureās legend.
I havenāt used mine yet and they look fine. But will keep an eye on them now.
Thanks for posting this ā thatās honestly pretty concerning behavior.
A drop from ~4.15V to 3.8V in a plastic case within a day definitely points to high self-discharge, not parasitic drain. Once you add voltage jumping on the charger and 0A charge current, that sounds like internal damage or a failing protection circuit (or internal short).
The one getting hot is especially scary ā you absolutely did the right thing taking it outside. Heat without load is a big red flag.
Iād stop using both of those entirely and keep a close eye on the rest, especially if theyāre from the same batch. Appreciate the heads-up.
