I wanted to show you guys what this thing looks like on a manual setting of 1.4 sec shutter. This thing has got a 9 and 7/8” reflector. That’s reflector diameter and not bezel to bezel. These turned out pretty good. Focal was 4 and ISO 400. I think you will see why this thing penetrates the nite. It’s got a super tight beam. And nothing I have or had will touch it for brightness and especially throw. The Dereelight I had wouldn’t come close. Neither will my TK70.

This tower is probably 3 to 4 miles away. And no it never hit it. Just showing you the beam. The 2nd picture is just aiming way off underneath it.

The black line on the bottom of the reflector seems like a return wire of hid, do you have a vertical oriented filament on your spotlight?

Pretty impressive, alot tighter than most I see. Is it just a large reflector?

Beats me why no one ever puts a huge reflector on an led…

I wonder how would a SST-90 will look on a huge deep reflector driven at spec.

All I know is the book that came with it has a replcement bulb part# 99-115H4 and is a H4 12V 120W/60W halogen bulb.

This thing will out throw a lot of HID lights. But it won’t beat some of the better ones like 2100 has. But this light only cost me $50.

This one I have says 20 million plus candlepower. Whether that is true or not I don’t know. But I do know it is bad to the bone as is.

This would give you an idea. Probably ~ 400k cd.

Platinum Thor 15 Million CP Halogen: 380,000 cp (Maxablaster host): 130W, 9” reflector (Measured by RA)
Several other 15 Million cp halogen spotlights: Non went above 400,000 CP, unknown but large reflector sizes(Measured by RA)
Thor 10 Million CP Halogen: 183,000 CP 100w, 7” reflector (measured by mtbkndad & calculated by RA)

I can’t remember, but I’m going to guess it was one of his ~XRE-EZ900, 2Amp custom builds. IIRC BC was into high current, XRE, direct copper bond designs at that time.

EDIT… whatever it was, it was $$$ and it got TORCHED by my HID build
