I don’t know about you folks, but having the positive and the negative terminals on the same side of a Li-Ion cell with that much capacity, and with that low IR, and with so little spacing between them, scares the bejeesus out of me. If anything conductive gets in touch with them, it could easily provoke a fire or worse…

I just read the post below from @texas_shooter in a different topic, so I checked my Liitokala 4695E to see if it had the same construction method, and indeed it has. I just now realized that the ‘negative tab’ on top is just because of the cut out in the black insulator disc.
You could easily cut a small piece of thin plastic into shape and glue it in or otherwise use a few layers of kapton tape to fill or cover over the tab. (I even thought of using some (UV curing) solder mask to cleanly fill it in and harden it.)

The two terminals are only a couple of mm’s apart. The entire outer shell and the outer top is negative. The center disc on top is positive. This is why you see a plastic doughnut around the positive terminal in flashlight pictures. Only 4.2v but huge amp potential on a short. I don’t see these as stacked loose cells in anything with a crush and short potential without that additional plastic doughnut. The insulator under the positive terminal is thick enough for its job in a battery build.
