@DB Custom, irresponsible for me to spend that much on lights considering my low income.
@unknown00101 & kronological, don’t even have thirteen 14500 cells, have maybe 8 or 10. Waiting to get some high drain cells in an upcoming group buy. Not really into 14500 lights until now. Have plenty of 18650 cells. One X5 also has a bad driver which was removed. Will get a lighted tail cap shot once I get the new cells and driver.
@onetrickpony, will never own a Tri-V, too expensive and probably bad resell value(just guessing, don’t really know).
@M4DM4X, hoarder and will give some away. Only had 10 Eagle Eye SE X6 and still own 9, one was recently given away. Think those were bought a year and a half ago.
@tarver, not anytime soon, do you want me to be disowned by my family. They are all in boxes and not easily photographed. Did a group shot about 3 years ago and regretted it before I was done.
@MRsDNF, knew you were kidding, every time I make a mean comment on here about people complaining I think about you, knowing you wouldn’t do the same. Most respected member on here for me and consider you a personal friend.
@MaxBeam & Sharpie, originally had 8 SS/Cu sets reserved, thought about they might not be up to par as far as QC, reduced to 5 sets. Waited several weeks until everyone had a chance to buy and then got on the standby list, think I’m one of the last on there. Everyone had plenty of time to buy before I purchased the last 4 sets. BG just sold out about a week ago.
Saw a forum member getting rid of serial numbered set # 62, couldn’t refuse. Negotiated, came to an agreement, bought it. The numbers freak in me couldn’t be stilled. (I was born in 1962)
I have turned my SS/Cu X6 into a triple, this #62 set will get put away for posterity. Perhaps my new grandson will like receiving it some day…
My partner just got two limited-edition numbered copies of a movie she loves. She showed me the serial number on one, 1939, and I said something about how it was too bad she didn’t get a lower number. But she corrected me — 1939 is awesome because that’s the year the story takes place. That one is apparently not getting opened.
Joat, can you please confirm what I’m seeing there? I know I can be dense sometimes but please help me understand this.
You charged up 2 like cells, put one in the Cu X5 with lighted tail cap and set the other aside. Now, measuring these 2 cells every couple of days or so, the one in the light is down to 3.774V due to drain of the lighted tail cap while the other is simply rested at 4.14V?
Have I missed somewhere a measurement on your lighted tail cap? It’s stock? So in the .80mA territory?
I’ve got my original sample X5 pulling 0.15mA, so it’ll last way longer by comparison if I’m seeing this right.
Thanks, I’m so forgetful sometimes I have to simply doublecheck that I’m on the right track.
Edit: Just checked a couple of mine that I haven’t tweaked the tail cap draw and they’re at 0.61mA, so it’s not quite so bad as I thought but still pretty bright.
Okay, so I feel I’m approaching the end of my knife collecting obsession (none of them particularly expensive, a fair few of them clones, but I like them) with about 60 or 70 folders. In terms of torches I have a few and had decided early on that I wouldn’t get so fired up for them as I did with knives. So I have a Thrunite TN4S. A couple of small Thrunites. A few wee Hugsby’s. An Olight S15R and an Olight S1 in Aluminium. A Thorfire C8S and a BLF tiny Singfire thing.
I thought that was me about done.
And now I click on this thread……
Obviously missed out on the very blingy and strangely alluring Copper and SS versions, but may well have to go for the Aluminium pair.
Gearbest wanted me to close a PayPal claim before giving a refund.
I did it because PayPal wanted me to fax (yes really fax) something but would not answer if the provided number was French or USA and I am not going to fax (really fax) personal info to a wrong place.
Gear best refunded you got written proof of the promise.
