All of the CNY madness is still fading folks. I ordered my last boxed SS/Cu set February 11 with upgraded shipping and insurance. Tracking on BG still shows nothing beyond it processing in China since February 25. Just for giggles I copied the tracking number and ran it through the USPS tracking system today to find that it actually hit Chicago on the 8th and is out for delivery today.
Don’t give up hope people.
I also have one pretty banged up Copper X5 bezel. Though it took a long time and a lot of emails with pictures and PMs, Neal’s assistant finally agreed to send me a new bezel. That was quickly followed by an email from Banggood CS saying they were going to send the part but it’s currently out of stock as asked if I can wait a few days. So yes, it took a crazy amount of time but that is mostly due to CNY and it does appear that the big machine is slowly turning its gears again. Fingers crossed that that my boxed set arrives unscathed today. I actually added a note with my order to wrap it in foam both ways and to stuff a piece of foam inside the box. I figured it was a long shot but it can’t hurt to ask right?
I asked the same question but did not get a response, I suppose we have to assume the price is now fixed @ $90. That is more than my budget allows.
BTW…. welcome to BLF
Good point! I had the same issue with my SS/Cu unboxed set that was delivered on 3/9 and I have the same issue with my Al set that is due to arrive on Mon. It seems the Track 17 tracking as well as the BG tracking were never updated, but USPS tracking was current.
In my experience 17track is quite pooptastic. :weary: Roughly 80% of the time the page won’t even load. I imagine BG might be tied to that same tracking system in China so will only be as accurate as 17track. If someone knows an alternate (reliable) source to track anything coming from China please step to the microphone.
Edit:
I almost forgot! 17track also has an app for your phone if you want a second tracking option that doesn’t work… :-/
This must be a fairly recent revelation. I ordered a set on 2/28 and the acceptance date was on 3/4. I was able to use the code with the only difference being that I was charged $.40 for Priority shipping, which was kinda strange. However, the code did give me the set for $50.
Actually USPS tracking will show before it arrives in the US, it will show the entire path once it has been accepted in China.
Edit: Track 17 still doesn’t work for me. When the initial purchases were made, I didn’t even have to copy and paste the code. Now, the tracking isn’t automatically entered and it still doesn’t show up when I copy and paste.
Ehm 50 set and 40 shipping still sounds like 90 to me (that is if you did not wanted to select expensive shipping)
I tested it on the 1A set since I read the other was sold out and I did not actually order it.
And let’s assume that they had 300 codes for the both, so that would mean 600 total, higher then promised. It has to end at some point right?
You must have missed the decimal point in my post. The shipping was 40 cents. No big deal of course, it was just strange that when I bought all my initial sets, Priority was free and this time they added 40 cents which doesn’t even cover a mailed letter.
At a guess, the tail light might be problematic since it’ll be getting at least twice the voltage it’s used to. So, that might need to be disabled. At best, it’d be brighter with higher current draw. At worst, it could potentially zap the LEDs and kill itself. So, at minimum, give it a higher-value resistor. Maybe just disable it and remove the bleeder from the driver.
The voltage-related functions will definitely break unless it’s recalibrated and reflashed. Will probably also need different resistors, as already noted. Otherwise battcheck will probably read 1.1V, which is how it says “error”, and LVP won’t ever happen. After calibrating it, it’ll still read out values from 2.6V to 4.4V as if it was single-cell, but you can double or triple that to get the actual voltage. I added an item to the todo list to fix this.
The OTC might not work quite right either, with higher voltage going to it. I’m guessing it will probably make the button presses even longer. You may be able to improve this by adding a high-value resistor to the OTC, but I have no idea what value.
It was my understanding that 400 SS/Cu sets and 400 Al sets would be available with the group buy code. If it stopped at 300, something seems to have changed. I haven’t heard anything though, so I don’t know the actual status.
There has been plenty of time for people to order their reserved lights.
Additionally, not all the original 400 Al sets were spoken for. Even so, we allowed those that did not make a reservation to participate in the GB pricing for all this while, effectively extending favorable GB pricing to latecomers to the GB. There has been plenty of time to make these additional purchases.
This is not a perpetual GB that goes on forever and ever. All good things must come to an end.
