Boruit RJ-02 headlight... 2 thumbs up...

Yeah, a protected button-top panny-B is probably the easiest way to go, on all accounts.

Cool. Thanks yous guys.

eBay batteries may not be the most reliable source.
And the ones you link to aren’t protected cells.

Try MtnElectronics or another of the online sellers you’ll find recommended here.

Ahhhh nuts
Thanks for info on MTN

I’m just wondering if the Boruit RJ-02 is exactly the same as this one from Boruit AliExpress?

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1000Lm-3W-LED-1-Mode-Headlight-USB-Rechargeable-Bike-Head-Lamp-Torch-Light-Headlamp-linternas-frontales/32384302670.html

The one in AliExpress does not indicate model “RJ-02”. Also it says “1000 lumens” which is likely bogus… But it seems to look the same as the pic on GearBest website, can someone confirm?

That looks exactly like the RJ02. Of course 1000 lumens is not correct. It’s closer to 150, but that’s pretty good for up close work.

The output is about the same as the Crelant CH10 headlight I recently bought. It uses a xml2 and only draws 0.18 amps max. So the emitter on the Boruit is definitely not very efficient. EDIT: I took my CH10 apart, looked for a problem, put it back together and now it’s doing 1.4A. It’s much brighter than the RJ02.

I think the Boruit is rated 300, if I remember correctly. It is marginally brighter than another 250 lumens LED Lenser headlight I have, so it seems about right.

Thanks for the responses!

hi everyone!
did someone has try this one?

it looks like the same, without IR control, but with real usb plug cover, less cheap headstrap, maybe a better output? some description talk about xml-L2 and xml-G2
there is also a 2 led version (but I dont see the interest?)

interesting

That might be a new model from Boruit. I will look into them. Thanks for the info.

It’s highly unlikely they are 1000 lumen. They also say 3W which would be closer to 300 lumen. It’s probably less than 300 lumen, though.

I like the 2 LED version.
The headlamps I have had that use the two plastic clips to secure and adjust the lamp to the headband haven’t lasted very long. The clips get loose and /or break. I have a few extra bands that might fit this one.

Indeed , 2 led version looks good

Y’all have pushed me too far, gotta have one now. Any current coupons?

I’ll wait till it gets to BG or GB

Who knows if the new ones are good or utter garbage that break down on the first use? I’ll wait for some proper reviews.

Same here. Someone post up a link when they appear.

Well, I meant coupons for the RJ-02 itself. Knowing some of y’all have paid 6-8 bucks for it, I’m too miserly to cough up 11. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if the 2-LED version uses the little oval 2-emitter boards found on a lot of bicycle headlights.

If not, if the emitters are mounted separately, it’d be handy to use 2 different color temp emitters for better color rendering, or else 2 different Carclo lenses, say a wide elliptical and a spot.

Someof the reviews on the product page are useful. (And some are word salad)

I hope HKJ gets one and reviews whatever charger circuit is built in, since I see it’s USB chargeable.

$6 must be with redeeming points. I’ve never seen it for less than $8.
At Gearbest, try the code GBHS.
No guarantees, though.

MadMax or Freeme are your best sources for current coupon codes.

Oh yeah, make sure your okay with an unknown led that is overly blue tinted. Also that it is not very water tight.

I ended up giving my light to my brother. I bought a Crelant CH10, but it could use some improvements as well.

The GBHS code works :+1:

Does anybody know the parasitic drain, with the LED off but the motion sensor on?
I want to mount it as a working light, but like to know if it drains out quickly this way.
