$19.99 might put it in the same ballpark with similar competition… assuming the light performs as expected.

If you don’t like the price, be polite about it please.

Who’s going to be the first to beg for a free review sample?

Why don’t you?

I think thats pretty obvious, dont you? Its ridiculously overpriced. My reviewing it would only prove that Im more interested in acquiring a free flashlight, rather than attempting to share a reasonable value with the forum. From the content of your prior budget reviews, I think you would hopefully agree.

You are correct…it does appear to be overpriced…but you never know until you tear it down.

There are lots of lights that price range…but then again, not too many I would shell that amount of money for.

I just think constructive criticism is better than snark is all. No worries…carry on

So basically, a 26650 battery which would run you maybe $5, a charger about $15, A holster where $5 is pushing it, depending on quality, a lanyard, which is included in just about every light on the market, and free shipping which is just about industry standard as well? So assuming $25 in accessories, that still puts the light in the $55 range, which IMHO is a tad overpriced for the performance listed. And that’s not including true specs from any respected reviewer, just what the manufacturer is advertising, which again, in my experience is usually higher than true outputs.

Just my $0.02

P.S. At least the light doesn’t look too bad!

Honest assessment?
Yes, your price is too high. We know you are aiming to reinvent yourselves as a higher profit margin premium brand but, so far, your lights have missed the mark.
The knurling of this light is nice but other parts of the physical appearance reminds of a lower cost light. You might think physical design is just personal preference but there are some design elements that premium lights tend to use more which can give their light a more premium look. Also the orange button does not look good, not a classy color imo. Start out with just black or maybe blue.

This window breaking picture makes your brand look bad. I suggest you just remove this picture. This picture can lose you sales.

We can see you are trying reinvent yourselves. Let me know if like more honest views, which might help you out. Only if you’re willing make some changes to improve things. Some changes can be simple, no cost changes! Like the removing the glass breaking picture.

ok. Thank you!

I found a review from almost two years ago:

Price back then was $113, how crazy is that?

$79.99 is still way too much, what do you think would be the reasons someone would choose the X26 over the fenix PD40 or nitecore EC4?

When I’m buying a new flashlight, this is what I look for:

  1. Price
  2. Looks and build quality
  3. Mod-ability
  4. Performance
  5. Accessories

In that order…

Questions to Brontelight:

1. What is the head diameter?
2. How did you measure 500m of throw? What is your measuring methodology?

Let me guess, you simply won’t answer my questions, right?

I can’t say for certain, but if the smallest portion of the body is 47mm in diameter (as per the listed spec), then the head is somewhere around 71mm. If they are measuring diameter at the tailcap, then the head will be somewhere around 64mm. I knew that algebra junk would come in handy one day!

Who knows, they may have had someone standing 500m away, called them, and asked if they could see the light turn on?

As will34 mentioned above, the review of this flashlight can be found in the other forum .

According to the review, the head diameter is 47.2mm (similar to a standard C8) and the OTF lumens was tested to be 772 lumens. Throw number is 34kcd only, which is about 369 meters of throw. This is exactly why I asked the question: How did Brontelight measure 500m of throw? Based on what standard they claim that?

They just simply put a big (throw) number to make their product looks good, yuck.

EDIT: I can understand about the exaggerated lumens claim of most budget lights on the market, but they are budget lights and selling at budget price range after all so I can live with that; But for this Brontelight which is selling at $80? No way.

That is a fair question, but also unfair because other brands don't tell you that either. I saw a post by reppans the other day about how 'ANSI' numbers from all premium brands are all over the place, making their methods questionable as well.
